    Default New RT floorboards.

Does anyone know if the new 2013 RT floorboards will fit on older RTs, and if we'll be able to buy them if they do?

I may be old, but I got to see all the cool bands.

They are listed as an accessory on the Can-am Spyder website ($999.99) but don't know if it will work on the older models. Just have to wait and see when the catalog comes out.

Yes they will work with all year SE models, not SM.

One of the reasons they are so pricey is because they have a safety feature that no other board has. If for some reason you do not achieve full brake pressure at a stop and the peddle needs to travel below the floor boards to stop the board will release in the front and will allow the brake peddle to be pushed below where the board was fixed. A simple push on the back of the board will lock the board back in place.

Nice! That's one reason I'm still debating floorboards or highway pegs...I'd hate to need more brake than I can get with a floorboard installed

Safety feature good--but the other brand has a great riser to alleviate the bottoming out problem. Price is pretty steep IMO.

I have an RT-S SE5 and given Lamonts comment, would like to evaluate the 2013 floorboards. I currently have Inspector Gadget's version which have been great, but might like to look at something a bit more substantial. ISCI or the Can Am 2013s for the RT SE5 would be the ticket.

Can anyone answer with a link/URL that actually shows a clear shot of the 2013 RT SE5 floor boards?

    Thanks

    Default MY FLOOR BOARDS

My floor boards have no such issues...
you have plenty of room above the board for the brake to function properly...
and my floor boards allow you to keep the existing 'pegs' so that you have two positions for your feet...
on long easy rides, my feet are on the boards... in the 'twistees' or in traffic i'm on the pegs....
    009.jpg010.jpg
i'm current building a 'plug' so i can build a 'tool' so i can start producing these in numbers... they will be fiber-glass and will anchor to the chassic... i'm 256 lbs, and i can stand on these without any problems... my current 'boards' have a 3/4" box-steel-chassic, so i'll need to TEST the fiber-glass prior to making any statements about their capacity... BIG BIRD & i have had these on now for almost 2 years, and both being old timers, with bad hips, they are a great piece of equipment to have...

I''ve had them for a couple of years like Dan says. There was an issue that came up while Carmen and I were on the 10 month RV trip around the country and I can't tell you how much I missed them... as soon as I could Dan and I put them back on... they work even in the traffic and in town. Now if I could just get my throttle wrist to quit hurting...lol

Shouldn't be a problem. Not sure if these are going to work on a 2013 till I get one in my hand but I'll make adjustments if needed.

Sounds like a good safety feature but IMO if they are so concerned with safety they
should add the right hand brake like all other bikes have.

In a panic situation I can usually get on the hand brake before finding the foot brake.

Maybe it's time for a brake lever to appear.
