Default Hot leg, not hot foot

I have read several posts about hot feet but that wasn't my problem on my RSS SE. I would end up with burnt shins that would remain red for 2-3 days if I rode more than 30 minutes. Didn't really want to get into wraps so solved it by buying soccer shin guards that I wear under my jeans. No more burns! This way, during the winter, I can enjoy the warmth.

Thanks for a great idea. My right leg gets a lot of heat even though I have the "heat shield" installed. I will get a pair of these shin guards this week. Good post for all of us.

Dick's Sporting Goods sells them singly so if only your right leg gets hot, you don't have to buy two.

It's the heat that comes from the radiator vents on the right side.

It would fall off instantly. The tupperwear already has heat sheilding under it, but the edges eventually get hot and transfer the heat to the rest of the surface. That said, it's really not much of an issue, unless you plan to give the spYder a good hug and burn your cheek.

On the other hand, the right hand vents can be real cookers. Can easily fry up some bacon and eggs, between stops!

If your shins are getting cooked, check your 'Y' gaskets.

If your shins are getting that hot there is something wrond with your Spyder or your riding gear. I would guess exhaust header gasket but that is q guess. Pull off the bottom plates for the summer time at least.

Thanks Yazz and bobnaquien! It was two leaking gaskets. I'm all fixed now and can ride without soccer shin guards.
    Appreciate your help.
