I have a friend that was looking at buying one of these, as he didn't think the Spyder was worth the money. 250cc single cylinder engine that puts out around 13hp, and chain drive with a CVT transmission. No ABS/traction control/stability control/power steering, 12" wheels. Top speed seemed to be around 35-40mph. When you order these, they come in a crate, and it is up to you to do the PDI, which includes mounting and aligning the wheels. We read a ton of posts where people could never get the front end aligned enough to make it safe to ride. I talked him out of it, as he would be better off putting that $3000 towards a Spyder and be done with it.

The Roketa would have to improve quite a bit before it could even be a "wannabee"
But for some folks in some situations; it might just work out okay...
250cc!

Agreed...the guy was out riding just as we were, ended up at the same place. Guess its like a pop-up camper parked next to a motor home. Both out enjoying the same thing... Just depends how deep your pockets are....

I rode over Trailridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park to Grand Lake this past Saturday. I parked and wandered along the lake shore for awhile and when I got back to my vehicle, some guy was quizzing me about the Spyder. "What is that engine, a 250? 350?" I had a flashback to this thread... "um no, it's about 1000cc"
Sparks, Thanks for this video; I think that I might even be able to offer up an intelligent comment now...
Glad to see that they have a working reverse...
Their turnsignals were just about impossible for me to pick out.
What was all of that blasted beeping? A turnsignal indicator??
Unless it was just poor camera utilization; the suspensions really need some sorting out. The look as if they ride about like an empty lumberwagon driven over a pile of rocks!
But... in a suburban, low-speed environment; they might just fit the bill!
