I'd do the single mount option. I agree with your reasoning. In addition, that avoids clearance issues with the link, and a host of questions about "Which hole do I use?" The KISS principle seems to apply here.

There is 1 additional reason that I would agree with your K.I.S.S. approach and that is the truth that; If it is possible, someone will do it. And that means someone will attach one side to the forward mount and the other side to the rear mount. Not that I think a part should compromise effectivness or versatility just to avoid any possible installation error. But neither do I think including a mostly unused appendage just to market a product is a good idea.

As far as clearance issues go, there seems to be room enough for a 2 point connection to work just fine in this regard. The stock mounting location pulls the system about as far forward as possible without hard parts coming together. This would allow for a rear set mounting hole which would actually increase clearance. But again, an inch (or in this case 1/4 inch) is as good as a mile here.

If I think a 2nd mounting point is beneficial I will certainly include it. That is why I have not made up my mind yet. Theory is just that, the proof is in the pudding!

    Prototype Bar Received

Prototype Bar Installed - All clearances look good. You don't need to remove the Frunk to do the Install. In many ways there is more room to work than on the RS.

    Too late to ride today.

    Stay tuned!

So how long did it take to do the install & did your vocabulary expand with newly found adjectives?

Since I don't have all of the components in hand yet there needed to be some hand modifications to a few things. They look pretty ugly but they work just fine for this phase. If I waited for those missing components to arrive we'd be back at least a week, maybe 2. Ugly is fine as long as it gets the job done at this point.

I took my time as it was a new venture for me. There were a lot of aspects that I wanted to look at that a customer will have no reason to bother with. Since I was doing a lot more than just a simple install I didn't really time it. I'm thinking the average person will take at least an hour to do this.

Just like the RS, taking the Frunk off isn't required but it does make the operation much easier.

I am very happy so far. But riding will be the real story.

Ok! Preliminary report on the RT Sway Bar.

Good News! Tested Slow Speed, 1-Up and 2-Up, highway and gnarley twisties....

Slow Speed - Reduced lean (I'm surprised that it is noticeable at slow speeds). Simply means that even at lower speeds the RT leans a fair amount.
Highway - Straight ahead - No difference (As expected and as desired)
Gnarley twisties - Noticeable difference (I don't want to quantify the amount of improvement yet because there is more to the equasion than just the sway bar)
    1-Up, 2-Up - Noticeable difference

The only surprise here is that there was a noticeable difference at slower speeds. (More noticeable with 2-Up which makes sense). Of course, the greater the tendency to lean, the more the sway bar will make a difference.

We are going to switch machines/riders and suspension modifications (basically shocks) and get another perspective. I am not dragging this out. There are components that have not made it to production yet and I can't ship until all the pieces are ready to go. So I've got a bit of a window to do more testing and I'm taking advantage of that.

    Hang in there folks!

I'm thinking that the only drawback would be shipping from OZ (down under) to the US. Bout the only thing that comes to mind.

Being a little late to the party, I vote for yellow as it part of the color theme on my blue RT.
But, orange is close to yellow.
Yellow would also match my helmet....ya gotta have some fashion sense.

As for when did Ron get a RT....seems he lives quite close to Lamont?

Ok, RT Sway-Bar fans. I know this is going slow but I've got one component that has to be custom made and it just isn't popping out of the oven as quickly as all of us would like. But it is coming. And everything else is ready to go.

So, taking advantage of this unfortunate down time, I've selected another Spyderlover to test the bar. I have the 2nd prototype in my hot little hand and it will ship tomorrow to the 2nd tester (we can call them 'The Sway-Bar 2'!)

The original plan was to take the prototype from the 1st test machine and ship it to this 2nd tester. However, the owner of the 1st test RT would not let me have it back. Hmmm..... should have gotten a signed contract I guess. But on the good side, I suppose that means he likes it!

So that meant a 2nd Prototype bar had to be made for the 2nd opinion rider. We should have some feedback from him soon.

Again, sorry about the wait. Believe me, I'm chomping at the bit as well.

Keep the grill hot, burgers are on the way! (Would you like fries with that order?)
