    Default Test Drive Photos?

I know a lot of you have taken test drives on the new Can-am Spyder and a lot of you have taken some sort of picture of you or your SO on a Spyder. How about posting them here so we can put a face (or helmet) with the name. ;D

Here's a few I found on my other sites.

the thing was wicked fast. It was a unique sensation riding it on the highway. Kind of felt like driving a quad at highway speeds. IT stuck to the road like glue! I really tried to bring the outside wheel up during some turns but the computers really prevent that.

There really is no place to put forward controls. The reps talked about just hanging your foot over the rear pegs.

    My complaints:
EXTREME heat on the right foot - vent from radiator is over the foot
drift right/left - I felt a lot of left/right movement like it was being blown around but it was a calm day. The rep said that feeling goes away after a short time.
A slightly taller handlebar would have been nice for me (6'1")

Well, "the wife" and I waited for TWO HOURS tonight, IN THE RAIN, but our persistence paid off, as the dealership squeezed us into a test ride. After a ten mile jaunt, I gotta tell ya'll, this thing was a BLAST! This could very well be my next bike. Our Yamaha dealership is doing rides again in June -- we're gonna make it a point to be there again -- and this time, we'll make a reservation!

Earlier today I went down to Palm Beach Florida for a test ride on the new Spyder Trike. Karl of Palm Beach Motorsports was my guide, taking me on a 30 minute test ride through Palm Beach streets, suburbs and later busy I-95 at speeds of 80 mph.

Within two minutes, I knew I brought the wrong helmet (half helmet) with me on this ride. I should have brought my full face helmet not thinking I'd really be put to the test as well as the Spyder beneath me.

The Spyder took curves as if it was on rails, similar to a triked out wing, however with more of a sport bike taste to it. The independent suspension on the Spyder along with stability control makes it in my opinion a safer alternative to the Hannigan, CSC, or Champion triked wings I test rode last January. The Spyder looks like a cross between a snowmobile and a jet ski with wheels.

Where ever we rode in the city we got thumbs-up from beautiful young women to cops rolling down their windows giving us the thumb. You won't go unnoticed on the Spyder.

The Spyder I was on I'm told was a prototype. I didn't like the feel of the steering bearings, (if there were any) it felt crude compared to our Wing.
The acceleration was brisk and it was easy to break the rear "car" tire loose if one had the desire to do so as my escort did on about a dozen occassions. The Spyder is a darksiders dream, car tires all around. The ride its self had me leaning a bit forward but not by much. The ride was comfortable but not wing-comfortable, hey am spoiled.

The gears on the Spyder is like that of a conventional motorcycle, to include reverse. An automatic CVT transmission is in the works. There is no front brake handle on the Spyder as I have noticed after so many times reaching for one. The foot brake control all three brakes with authority, wow.

Almost forgot, the price is $16,800 OTD.

Just wondering if anyone else had a chance to test drive the new Can-Am Spyder. It is made by the same company that makes the Sea-Doo watercraft and snowmobiles. It looks like a snowmobile with wheels.
They had the longest lines at Americade and when I rode it I realized why. It is an absolute blast to drive...it is easy to get the hang of, soaks up the bumps, handles well, and has a torquey motor. Although when I first took off, I forgot that the only brake is the right pedal and almost rear-ended the leader.
Before we went on our ride, they showed us a 6-minute video of the technology that went into the machine, the most impressive part was the computer controlled suspension. When it senses that one of the wheels is going to come off the ground, it shuts down the engine and hits the brake. It was very confidence inspiring and I tried to get one of the wheels airborne by turning as hard as I could going into the turns at speed. I had a grin on my face for the whole ride.
I wouldn't trade in the Goldwing for it but my father, who has only ridden on the back of mine, is looking to get one. For about $16,000 it is half the price of other 3-Wheelers.
The other pictures are of another trike company's prototype that looks very similar to the front end of the Can-Am.

Four of us from our area went to Rob's Performance Mortorsports in Johnson Creek, WI a few weeks ago and did a demo ride. Great fun!

They are hosting another demo day where 16 Spyders will be at their facility on July 7 in case you are interested. http://www.robsperformance.com

I did the test ride also when they came to Mission Yamaha in Irvine, Ca. It was really fun! We had a guy leading our little test group that really let us push the limit on the trikes. We ran them between 80-100mph when we could and I was amazed at how they held in the corners. I went around one corner so fast the front end started to drift out but it was totally controllable.
