Nice job. I love to see people innovate. Be cautious about putting too much weight in that big box though. The amount of lift from the box will be magnified by the length of the bracket the box is mounted on. You could become the first Spyder to do a wheelie if you load the box too heavily.

Make sure you have it shielded from the exhaust. The heat rolling out the end of that exhaust pipe will turn your plastic into goo. ATV's will burn a hole in a sprayer tank that is mounted on a hitch and 3' behind them.

I would be concerned that if it did fail it would damage your brakeline and speed sensor cable. You would be surprised how much leverage is out there putting stress on those tabs.

A small set of Wheelie-bars mounted to it might look pretty cool...

It's also not a bad idea just in case you catch an unusually ugly angle to a sidestreet or driveway!

Well rode about 75 miles today riding 2 up and 20LBS of stuff in the rear trunk the heat shield held up great it did not even get that hot everything so far looks and feels great it's like the box is not even there.
i have a total of 150 miles on this test run so far started at 35 MPH to 95 MPH I and the wife will do about 350 miles tomorrow

Looks nice. curious though, why not go with a smaller box since you can only put 20lbs in it? Or does it just look bigger than it is? 20lbs of clothes? i guess you put yours in the saddle bags...
