Good Place To Stay Near Rend Lake?

I am still looking at planning a trip to this area to ride around since Memorial Day didn't happen. Wondering if anyone knows of a good Bed and Breakfast or Hotel in the area. From what I've read the one at Rend Lake is not a good option.

My wife stayed at the lodge there fora conference, she said it was "craptastic". She is pretty go with the flow, so I would avoid that for sure.
