Black Plastic Pieces.
My Spyder is about 2 years old now, and the black plastic parts are looking kinda dull. Is there a treatment, or product you can put on them to rejuvenate their appearance?
Smokeless powder and automatic pistols are merely passing fads that will only distract you from the fine art of shooting.

restoring black parts
I've used "Back to Black" with mixed results. My foglight housings are turning gray and I haven't found anything yet that will work.
Anyone have any ideas?

I use Armor All for the black plastic and it brings back the color.

There is a new wax by turtlewax (ICE) it is a clear liquid and can applied to any part of the bike (not sure about tires or seat). It can be put on in direct sunlight and once dry it buffs to a great shine, especially on the black plastic parts. No white residue and very easy to apply and polish (it comes with a polish applicator and a micro fiber buffing towel.

give them a coat of paint (properly applied) It cleans, waxes, and doesn't turn grey. the whole bike is plastic and your color choice is unlimited, why not paint?

Turtle Wax used to make a great product called Black Chrome. When I ran out of it I started using http://dryshinetreatments.com/black-...treatment.html
Its durability and deep luster is better than anything else I've used.

I would clean and make it all nice looking, then after about 20miles on the road. Dirt Dust would be clinging all over the parts.. "PAINT" solves all issues.. I have less than $40.00 and 24 manhours. 99% of the black is gone..
White out the black 024.jpg
White out the black 012.jpg800 grit wet-paper
between each coat.. Try the mudflap 1st. If you don't like it. take it to the highpressure carwash and at a bit it will remove the paint. 2 months and 5K still holding up nicely..

I can finally contribute something here! I got this tip from another forum and it works great. Lemon Pledge! I spray it on my BMW R1150RT after I've washed it. I let is sit for a time and then wipe it off. It makes the black plastic shine again and as an added benefit, when you go to spray the bugs off after a ride they will mostly come off just with hose pressure. It makes cleaning easier and I am told that it won't yellow or discolor your windshield. Mine is still perfectly clear after many applications. I spray it all over the bike. I have begun spraying it on the plastic bumper of my wife's Mazda 6 and it's much easier to clean now too! It's cheap and you can get it at any grocery store. She may be considering a Spyder so she can join me on my rides.
