SE TRANS PIKES PEAK
Wanting to do pikes peak in july on our 2011 rt concerned about SE trans and trip down. Has anyone mad this trip? Any thoughts would be great.

If you want to raise your shift points; try putting it in Trailer Mode...
(Nobody ever said that you couldn't do that unless you had a trailer chasing you down the road... )

What are your concerns? If it is a need to have adequate engine braking, remember that the shifting is under your control. Downshift a gear coming down, and you should be fine.

I've never taken a spyder down Pikes Peak, but I've driven it a lot of times when I lived in Colorado Springs. You just need to take it slow in lower gears and you will be fine. There are places that you can pull over if your brakes start to overheat. The pullouts are great places to take photos too. There is also a brake checkpoint where the park rangers will check your brakes. If they are too hot, you will have to stop for a bit to cool the brakes off.

I had my 2010 rts up to pikes peak, dont remember having to use brakes much on way down engine braking was motly all that was needed, that said I have manual trans
