Unveiled in Europe, really, Europe sells more Spyders then The US. Why is BRP afraid of showing the final product first in the United States.

Look at it the brochure at the dealer and i guess it was at the motorcycle shows around? I wonder what the street price will be? If resonable would be cool to get.

With the ongoing problems, error codes, fault codes and general failures we experience with our Spyders as they are, the Europeans can have first crack at the hybrid and the multitudes of problems that are bound to follow. You know, share the wealth. I will refrain from comments about dealers that can't seem to handle "ordinary " Spyders, much less a hybrid.

I wonder if it will have the same riding distance on a charge that we get on a tank?

I like that paint scheme on the hybrid in the Facebook page (also in the back of the 2012 catalog). Not too fond of the light green "moon rover" vehicle looking one though myself.

EDIT - just realized it is the same machine in both pictures. Sorry. Catalog pictures are just like movies - makes it look different.

A couple questions. In previous posts about the hybrid, they were showing the model but said it was a non operating version. Have they finally got an engine and a working model? Are they actually selling these in Europe, or are they just displaying it?

I am guessing that the price will be in the 40's or higher.

I will say, it is a beautiful looking machine.

A WORKING model is to be unveiled in Durango... or so I heard.........

I don't think the price will be that bad.... they got a huge grant from the Canadian government to bring it to market.....

Understand your complaint... but I don't believe the RS models are having such problems... and the Hybrid is RS based......

Hybred usually means more and sophisticated programming which seems to be BRPs weakness so add that to to the RS and whatta ya got? RT issues

I believe that it'll be using a version of the "Ace 600" engine that's currently being run in their snowmobiles... i don't know if it'll get double, but it certainly help!
I'm curious as what sort of battery capacity it'll have...

It will likely be quite heavier...not so sure it will be faster. As far as the comments about it being silent, I don't like that idea at all...being loud (but not obnoxious) is a good thing on a bike...

Not too sure about the sense in having a white seat, but love the colors. Was hoping the one we saw in Maggie Valley would have a working engine, but that didn't happen. We'll wait till the kinks are all worked out...wonder when there will be an RT hybrid.

Roll on performance is the big question... When I crack the throttle at 60mph and want to bump up to 80 for a quick pass.... is the power going to be there or is the hybrid only going to provide electric + gas acceleration from a stop?

Everything I've read is that it will have the same performance as our RS Spyders....this was of major importance on the project.

As for the sound.....my guess is that the gas engine will run at various times similar to a Prius.

Really curious to see how this all comes together.......

there are some other posts about the hybrid-spyder ..
I think thats specially for europe where some towns do not allow to drive a "normal" car/bike if the air is too dirty .. in the future you can visit also some national-parks here with a hybrid (also with the hybrid-skidoos - hybrid-seadoos !!)

so "sometimes" you have to ryde with "only" 25 Hps

so.. its 100% the best engine Rotax have ever built in their history
