Default Memorial Day Weekend - Possible??

Sny and I are thinking about doing a trip down to Rend Lake, The Garden of the Gods & Giant City Park for Memorial Day weekend. We may add a day to it and make it 4 days just to keep it relaxed pace. From Chicago, Rend Lake is about 325 miles. Rend Lake, The Garden of the Gods & Giant City Park are all about 60-70 miles apart.

We would stay at a hotel/inn/bed & breakfast near Rend Lake and make that the ending point each day.

There are boat rentals at Rend Lake, and it's a beautiful lake and wildlife preserve area. The Garden of the Gods has awesome hiking paths, boulders and forest all around. Giant City Park has huge rock formations and beautiful forest all around.

Wondering if any down-staters would be interested in joining along or have any recommendations for roads or sights in the area we shouldn't miss.

I've no idea what we're doing that weekend, but it looks like fun. You can't go wrong with a trip to Garden of the Gods. Enjoy!

This is looking like the last weekend of June now : ) May still be a 3 day thing for us traveling a ways to get there.

    Any interest?
