I don't see this as a fun topic at all. I find the price of gas down right criminal.

Whenever I think about this subject it gets my blood pressure up.

I guess I'll go take more blood pressure medicine now.

It won't lower your blood pressure at all; but you won't care!

    GASMAN,
No worries; I think everybody is a bit worried about this, so it's not a bad thing if we get a little bit of duplication in here once in a while...

Just a retorical question but why is gas more expensive in
Canada than it is in the US. We are buying mucho oil from Canada. Gas is still around $4.79/Gal around here. It don't make NO Sense!

It's looking more and more like "what the market will bear" is the price.

There appear to be no regulations about arbitrarilly raising prices.

The petroleum companies always have 50 vague reasons for the price hike of the day

Same kind of deal for Alaska--we are producing about 7% of the oil used in the US. We have two refineries in the state. We and Hawaii still have some of the highest gasoline prices in the US.

I paid $4.49 for premium yesterday. My car demands it unfortunately. $4.29 for regular.

    Default gouging

We mhave to reduce our reliance on foreign oil to reduce prices.......but the US is exporting oil products , less consumption will lower prices.....we had to raise prices because we weren't selling enough . Face it folks....oil companies are free to do what they want and will keep doing it. Big oil has big handouts and politicians have big pockets . Record profits for them the last couple of years yet they still get huge tax breaks and subsidies. Those who have get more and the rest of us get screwed.

Like the old joke says: Tie the price of a bushel of our wheat to the price of their oil. If they dont like the price tell them to eat their oil.

Excellent Question , one all Canadians keep asking. Excuse the oil companies are using today is that they are switching from winter to summer gas.

And don't forget state taxes! On our ryde last weekend, gas on the NC side of the border was 3.88/gallon. On the SC side, it was 3.53. Naturally, I live in NC, and way too far from the border to go to SC for fuel.

Nationalising is a slippery slope, I don't think any of us want to go there.

Government control. Milk in Maine at Walmart is $3.85 a gallon in N.H. 20 miles away Walmart $2.49 a gallon. Many items like that. Now they are talking putting State Troopers on the border to catch people crossing border to collect sales taxes because N.H. has no sales tax. We pay sales tax on drinking water. Only necessities are exempt ???
