    Default P1614 again

Well I guess that the dealership didn't take a look at the throttle body issues that my Spyder was having when it ended up in their shop for some werious repair work...
Yesterday I got the "Orange Screen of Death" and P1614 and P0000 codes...
If the weather holds this Saturday I'll take it to another shop to see what they see...

The P0000 indicates "No Active Codes", so the problem is intermittent. You will likely need a new throttle body, though, as P1614 indicates a throttle positioner problem.

For the uninitiated, what is the orange screen of death, and P1614? Also how will you get it to another dealer? Tow, ride, or trailer yourself?
I'm just curious in case I ever need to know. Thanks

Sorry...part of my questions were already answered while I was typing.

"Orange Screen of Death": Everything goes Orange and you get a "check engine" admonition...

Every time my throttle-body needed to be replaced it
was still ride able but would go into limp mode or just
make a lousier exhaust sound. Are the spark plugs to
be replaced also when this occurs?
I might be getting mine back late today or tomorrow
with the new throttle body. Good luch with yours Bob!

TicketBait, you shouldn't need new spark plugs.

Well actually I won't know it when I see it. I can understand the "Check Engine", but I'm red/green color blind. So orange could be red, or green to me or maybe even yellow. I just wouldn't know.

Having said that, is the "check engine" and orange screen one and the same? Or does the screen turn other colors, with other problems?

    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

It's one and the same... It won't be mistaken for anything else as you watch your life flash before your eyes...

That might not be the case Bob, Remember Forest and how many he has gone through ??? Changing the throttle body does not fix the actual problem in all cases.

I thought of that too, but their track record seems... more in line with my current hypothesis.
And in spite of my attempts; I STILL don't have an invoice showing the work that they did, or didn't do!
