I have done several minor mods but to date have not documented them anywhere. That is what this thread will be for.

Dare I say I am almost done modding the Spyder! I guess we will see how true that is in the coming months based on how this thread grows.

More to come later documenting already complete mods, just do not have time to go into detail on each one right now.

This was REALLY my second mod, the GPS was the first, completed July 2011.

I saw these at the Maggie Valley Owners event in June 2011 and EVERYONE that had them recommended them very highly. I can say they do what they say and work very well. Without the radiator block off plate my right foot and leg got a lot of heat. If you are going to get highway pegs these are a must!

This was actually my first mod, initially done May 2011, then modified November 2011.

Initially it was on the handlebars in the stock location using the BRP mount and wiring harness.

The BRP Install instructions were VERY good and easy to follow. Install took about 2 hours.

The initial install:

It was not long before I decided this was not the safest/most effective place to mount a GPS on a motorcycle. BRP should REALLY rethink this location, it was too far out of the line of sight and looking down to see the GPS almost got me killed a couple of times. I saw this thread, http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...a-Zumo-up-high, on Spyderlovers and later saw Dave & Teddy's Heads-Up install up close and personal so I decided to do mine the same way.

Quantity: 4 Hex Cap Screws, nuts and washers, to mount to the dash.
1 Piece of Black 1/4" Foam Cut to Size, this goes between the RAM Mount and the dash, it is just a NICE finishing touch!
