Default You get what you pay for/ SkullCandy earbud reveiw

I'm new this year to wearing earbuds while listening to music on the Spyder . It's a much more enjoyable ride to rock out to music and twist the throttle. I just wish I did it sooner in life with the other bikes I have owned.

Holly and I have been going through different sets of earbuds to get ones that stay in our ears and I have to say, don't waste your money on the cheap Skullcandy earbuds shown here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/230760210023...84.m1497.l2649 The sound is horrible with absolutly no bass. These are the worst earbuds I have ever owned.

Skullcandy makes a wide range of different model styles and a huge difference in prices, so lesson learned............. you get what you pay for.

I bought a pair of those when you mentioned them a while ago and they are not the best.
Skull Candy Ink,d and Titan and the sound is Great .
I recently purchased foam ear cushions (4 pair for $6 on E Bay) and they are superior (IMO) to the silicon ones that come with most earbuds.

For car drivers I could see this.... But bikes should be exempted. Do they allow ear protection like ear plugs? I use my noise canceling buds and they work great even without playing music.

I have skull candy Titian's and they are the best ones I have had for the price, they are about 40 bucks if you buy them at best buy and I ride in everything, I go thru about a set a year and I can not say enough about them. I have small ears and the budds are the smallest I have seen.

The 20 dollar basic ones are great for basics but its worth the extra 20 bucks
I am existing right now, would give anything to live again. Fix my sci and you have everything I own.

So if I have speakers installed in my helmet, and I have my phone bluetoothed to my scala rider, which is my communications system, I'm legal based on Virginia's law. It either that or I need an extremely heavy vehicle.

    Code of Virginia
§ 46.2-1078. Unlawful to operate motor vehicle, bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, or moped while using earphones.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle, bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, or moped on the highways in the Commonwealth while using earphones on or in both ears.
For the purpose of this section, "earphones" shall mean any device worn on or in both ears that converts electrical energy to sound waves or which impairs or hinders the person's ability to hear, but shall not include (i) any prosthetic device that aids the hard of hearing, (ii) earphones installed in helmets worn bymotorcycle operators and riders and used as part of a communications system, or (iii) nonprosthetic, closed-ear, open-back, electronic noise-cancellation devices designed and used to enhance the hearing ability of persons who operate vehicles in high-noise environments, provided any such device is being worn by the operator of a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,000 pounds or more. The provisions of this section shall not apply to the driver of any emergency vehicle as defined in § 46.2-920.
    (Code 1950, § 46-219.1; 1950, p. 882; 1958, c. 541, § 46.1-202.1; 1989, c. 727; 1993, c. 126; 1997, c. 36; 2001, c. 834; 2002, c. 254.)

I am / was pleased with them. I now have some blue tooth thingies. Let me see if I can find a "new" or "unused" set of plastic ear-thingies for them and I can just mail em to ya.

Then you can decide for yourself.

    I have the ZAGG Smartbuds.
http://www.zagg.com/audio/smart-buds.php Love them at the gym,
I also have a cheap set of Skullcandy in my gym bag (got them for $10 at Cycle Gear with a purchase), just in case I forget to grab the ZAGG buds.

When I ride I have a Scala Rider G4 pairs to my iPhone, and I can communicate with my wife, listen to music, answer phone calls etc etc.

So you replaced the speakers that came with you G4. I was thinking of doing this but wasn't sure if I should do this.

NO, I use the existing G4 speakers. I know several people that like earbuds instead, but I am fine with the speakers, after a few hours of wearing ear buds I get a sore ears and a headache.
