Important Safey Tip
Well, I nearly had myself a disaster last night.
Left the grocery store about 8:00 pm, walked to my Spyder, was putting on my overpants. Took out my house keys and wallet from my khakis to transfer out, decided to place my house keys and wallet on my handlebar bag...
CLINK!
Down go the keys, right into the Spyder underneath the handlebars.
Sigh.
At first I hoped the keys fell down the left side, down through the gap by the oil reservoir, so I take off that panel. Nope, no such luck. Open up the frunk, grab the tools, start taking off side panels. Luckily, I had two advantages: I never bothered to attach my Spyder key to my house key ring, *and* I remembered to pack a super-bright LED flashlight in the trunk. Found my keys precariously resting atop the exhaust, just within reach if I stretched.
20 minutes after the "Oh " moment, I was on the road home.
Moral of the story: don't drop things down into your Spyder!

I'm putting my IPS back on.

In addition to the super bright light I also carry one of those long handled magnets on my Spyder. My fear has always been dropping the key in a sewer grate or something like that!

The funny thing is I was debating just a few weeks ago to finally place my Spyder key on my home key ring (I sold my car back in January, I'm a full-time Spyder commuter now, wanted the convenience).
I know now that what I *won't* be doing. If I lose my Spyder key, I have my house keys to go home and get a spare. If I lose my house keys, I can ride home and hope my girlfriend loves me enough to let the door-banging locked-out lunatic back in the house .

It's a cover that connects to and conceals the Spyders key, So you can leave the key in the ignition,
In Plane Sight -= IPS . Lamount sells them.
I know I'm not explaining to well, But someone will come on soon and help.

Thanks! You did explain it well. I just found it by doing a forum search for IPS ignition. Then I watched the you tube video. They look great, but I think I would be nervous leaving a $28K vehicle with the key in it. Then again..... Maybe
