    Question Clutch filter??????

I have a 2010 Rt and the dealer said when changing the oil, I should replace the clutch filter every other oil change and sold me one. I find nothing in the owners book saying the clutch filter should be changed. I don't even know where it would be located. Has anyone ever heard of this?
    Thanks

The proper nomenclature is "transmission filter"

Yes, the proper nomenclature is transmission filter, but BRP has changed the spec, and they now are to be changed at every oil change. A dealer should have been well aware of that!

this would be obvious, as the SM5 (Manual) doesn't have a Trans Filter....
    RS - 55K+ miles, F3 - 200 miles and counting.

    Default Clutch filter

They sold me the bike and it is a manual shift. That is why I was confused. Thanks everyone for your replies.

Sounds like a typically uninformed parts counter guy. He sells lots of them to other folks, so figures you need one, too. You only have one filter on the SM. Maybe you should get your filters and gaskets from BajaRon?

    WOW!

A parts guy that doesn't know the correct name for the part he is selling, doesn't check with the customer to find out if he even needs the part, and may not even know that SM's don't have a 'Clutch Filter'. And if the Spyder DID have a clutch filter, it would the first motorcycle I've ever heard of that had one.

    Amazing!

I think it just goes to show that it's a good idea to know more about your ride than that dealership does. This goes for every brand, not just Can-Am.

And right here at Spyderlovers is the place to get it. Let the training begin!
