RPM Range In The City
Just to get an idea of the type of rider you are with the type of Spyder you have. Are you more agressive with the RPM's in the city than others are. Where do you like to keep your Spyders RPM's ???

This is me
I am still breaking mine in, but I don't believe I will drive much different after break in. I am just about always under 5000 rpm shift points in city is 3500 to 4000 in the city and 4000 to 4700 on the highway. So am I babying it to much?

With the 6n don't know the needle flies too fast to watch'.

Yea, but I don't watch the speedo, either.

I break 9K at least once a ride.
Mostly I keep it around 5.5
Makes it louder and gives some room to power out of a place like Doc said. Yesterday I was at 7k on the slab when a transfer truck tried to pull over on top of me. I rolled it up past 9k to get even with his cab on the shoulder to tell him he was "number 1"

I know with my style of riding that my gas milage suffers alot, but of love the sound above 6k so I take the hit at the pump.

I find my RTS works best at or around 5-6 grand . But I know that if I need it the extra RPMs are there.

RPM'S ON RTS/SE5

I have a 2011 RTS/SE5 with about 3,600 miles. I do all my shifting just above 3,200rpm. It is very smooth that way and I also just back off the throttle a little each time. When I am on the highway, I usually run around 4,000-4,500. If I run at 5,000 or above, I am way above the speed limit. I am very comfortable driving this way, plus I enjoy the gas mileage at around 32-35 mpg.

Great thread. I tend to keep it at a higher RPM in the city. (If you keep the rpm's to low it will not let it shift up.)
