Question about drive belt and KriKit II
I have my belt set at 140 LBS. on the KriKit II while the rear wheel is off the floor and the deflection is about 3/4". The Spyder seems to ride all right at this setting with no slipping in the cogs, but as I was cleaning the Spyder I noticed that I could slip the belt side to side about a 1/8" on the rear sprocket with slight pressure on the belt. The belt stays put on the sprocket as the wheel spins while running with the jack under the swing arm, but I am wondering if my KriKit II is accurate.........it just doesn't seem that I should be able to move the belt at all on the rear sprocket. Has any one else noticed this movement on the rear sprocket?

Both! I can move it while it is off the floor and if it is on the ground.
I have put probably over 200 miles on it at that setting and the belt stays right where it should be on the sprocket. My biggest concern is that I can move the belt on the rear sprocket with my finger. Never checked that before......but it seems odd to me that I am able to move the belt by pushing on it slightly even though it goes right back where it should be when the sprocket is turned. The other thing I noticed is that the sprocket is warm(not hot) after being on the road for a few miles although I imagine that is typical because of the friction between the belt and sprocket, I guess I never checked that before either.

Mine reads 140 on the ground- Forgot how that relates to in the air?

I would bring it to 150-180 and have someone sit on it and check if you can move it.

BELT TENSION
I have mine set at approx. 160 lb. off the ground.....and yes my belt warms up also.....there is heat from friction.....and have you noticed where the belt and front sprocket are in relation to the exhaust....plus there's no air in that cavity either.....Mike....
