For me, it was Inspector Gadget's rear mud flap and rear trunk shelf. Every time riding on wet roads, splatter would be all the way up to the back of my helmet, mud flap solved problem. Rear shelf is great spot for small items and won't get lost in the black hole.

My Favorite mod would have to be the rally stripes from PowerSportsWraps.

My Best mod is a toss up between the Utopia backrest and replacing the analog gauges with a 12v socket and a Voltmeter.

What size Cramp Busters did you use on your Spyder? Were they stock grips.

replacing the analog gauges with a 12v socket and a Voltmeter
Never thought about the 12V socket. The voltmeter was almost a given. Been thinking about oil pressure as well, but the 12V socket may be a good alternative.

    Default Utopia

If I didn't have a Utopia backrest for my RT, I wouldn't be able to ride this beast more than a few miles. By co-incidence, the back is "indented" in just the spot where my "hinge" from a couple back operations is. 8 lower vertebrae bolted together and this hinge allows me to bend over. No touching the toes, but pretty darn good.

Second good deal is the Inspector Gadget footboards and (heel and toe shifter, which is more $.) Really super.

Whether the cost is $200 or $1000 (it is not), the Utopia Backrests have brought me more comfort and pleasure than any mod in the last three years

The RT is ALL lowers. I remove the lower air deflectors to increase air flow in hot weather. this helps a lot. I am sure that the bakers would help direct air much better to rider and pass.

I would opt for adding lights over anything else. Seems you hear the same line after every bike accident involving a car, "I didn't see him". IMHO, adding lights over the stock reflectors is best and safest investment. Then do "frilly" add-ons.

The Tricled fender lights would probably get my vote for the best mod under $100

and the Utopia back (although over $200) is my absolute hands down best mod to date.

Ok best mod for under 200 has to be the 10.00 dollar sheet I got at sears. You see it all started with this forum and watching all the mods people were doing so i get this idea because my wife parks her car in the garage next to my Spyder she can she what I have been doing to it so I keep it covered telling her its just to keep the dust off of it. So last night some friends come over and they want to see the bike as they are leaving so i open up the shop and they see the gloryders, ips, ram mount cup holder, my new NBVs, the graphic kit and they want me to start it up so they can see the lights....well the wife walks out to see what is going on and then the s#@t hits the fan lol and she say this is new...this is new..this is new...when did you get all this stuff lol so my response was well dear every time you buy a new pair of shoes for that fancy office job you have I get a new FARKLE...Im very surprised i didn't sleep on the sofa last night lol
