Default Someone came up with three wheels

This car/bike has been around for a long time. Seems that I remember seeing manual dating back to the 1930's. It is an European roadster with a motoguzzi motor. As you can the motor sets in there sideways. My brother-n-law restored this replica (kit) car a couple years ago and I thought you all might like it. As you can see it has three wheels and some would call it a boat tail. This had mods that made it usefull as a truck and other things needed back in those days. Who can name this car?

The Morgan three-wheelers were made for almost 40 years, ending in 1952. They had a variety of engines, none of which was a Guzzi, to the best of my knowledge. The J.A.P. engine is the best known. This is an apparent replica, although I couldn't find the make and I could not read the logo on the hood. Today, The ACE is the best known replica, having recently been licensed by Morgan to be sold under their own logo once again.

    Default You guys are good!

This is a JZR replica of the Morgan Trike. It was Morgan's way of beating the high taxes that where put on cars with four wheels.
Anyway, Scotty and you guys are right. JZR found Motoguzzi motors to be an easy install on the Morgan replicas. I thought it
    was very cool car/bike.

Thanks for the details. Very interesting version of the replica.

    Trivia:
Q: Do you know the biggest difference between the original Morgans and the replicas?
A: The Morgans had wooden frames, most of the replicas are steel.

From what I've seen, the Ace / Mogs have wooden frames, they build 'em in Seattle. I WANT one!

Me, too! It is by far the most faithful reproduction. I remember those old wood frames well. My high school German teacher had a Morgan 2+2, and I used to repair it and tune it up for her. They are like all British sports cars, except maybe a little more so...you are either cussing or smiling every time you are near them...there is no in-between.

Google it, Bob, the base line Ace has a 96 inch Harley engine, the Morgan version has a 120 inch S&S X-wedge. Both use a Miata transmission.

In the December 2011 issue of Automobile magazine, page 42 there is an article with pics, of the Miorgan. The Morgan Motor Co. recently, once again, began prodiction of its 3 wheeler. It weighs just a bit over 1000lbs,powered by fuel injected V twin motorcycle engine from S&S cycle, the Harley-Davidson tuner.Miata gear box.0-60--4.5seconds. Top speed 115mph.Went on Sale this January. 30 mpg est. Price-$45,000. This first year of production the Morgan company in England made 500- 3 wheelers---all sold!! Read the article--great pics. It is exempt from federal automotive emissions and safety standards as it is classified as a motorcycle!!
