My parents had three of us kids serving at the same time. My oldest brother, now deceased, was in the Army Reserve, my older brother was Army and was in Viet Nam while I was in AF basic. I was in Viet Nam in '72. Later on my youngest brother was in the Navy. I keep telling Bruisersbaby I want to go back to the sandbox, but for some reason she won't let me. To all our vets and those currently serving, my heartfelt salute and thank you. To my brothers and sisters who served in 'Nam, welcome home

It does my heart good to see my fellow Spyderlovers show their patriotism and express their support for our men and women in uniform. When I read Smokinspyder’s post I smiled because I feel the same way. If it was possible to shake the hand of every service member and thank them in person I would do it. We all know that is not possible. What is possible though is to shake the hand of as many people who defend our freedom as you can.

As many of the Spyderlovers in Pennsylvania know, I am a member of the Warriors’ Watch Riders. This is an organization that supports our troops with Welcome Home, Send Off and Honor motorcycle escorts. I have been the Ride Captain of over 25 missions. Every one of those missions I have been on my Spyder.

I also saw the original post from ruthie:

Thank you to my hubby, all the veterans and active duty military guys and gals.
I will also be in a Veterans Day Parade of sorts this weekend. On 11/13/11 I will be the Ride Captain for a Send Off escort of the 378th Army Reserve Combat Sustainment Support Unit as they leave for a one year deployment to Afghanistan.

I welcome all North East Coast Spyderlovers to join us at the rally point for this mission:

Primary Rally Point: Mooses LZ, 211 Fisher Ave., Jonestown, PA 17038
    Rally Time: 8:00 am
    Departing: 8:30 am

It will be a 30 mile escort from the Rally to the destination.

If you want to shake the hand of a hero this is the time and place to do it.

Thanks to Lamont for his support of the WWR Mission.

Visit warriorswatch.org for mission details and more information on how you can support our military.

From Grandpa in WW II to Dad in Vietnam, to me from '94-'05 along with both of my brothers, I have a deep appreciation for our fighting men and women. God Bless them and show our gratitude to Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors who have served both past and present.

    HOOAH!!
