Holly, some of the boys are getting out of hand here. Guess someone's got to buy you an RT so they can see that suit on you again. Any buyers.

Unmanned planes dominate the battlefield, yet airliners still have pilots and co-pilots.
When will we have unmanned commercial airliners ?

a. When the Air Accident Investigation Board becomes comfortable blaming an obscure software error code for the total loss of an aircraft, rather than the old standby of "pilot error".
b. Most people recognise that there is nothing "natural" about sitting in a metal tube and taking to the skies. Watching a jumbo jet take off to many people appears to be a gravity-defying, totally unbelievable stunt. Having committed themselves to taking part in what for many ordinary people is a technical mystery, passengers are reassured that the good-looking mature guy with four gold rings on his arm is up front controlling things. He represents their only visible security in the otherwise "risky" adventure of flying.
On a personal note, sad to say that practically everything I have owned in my life has developed a flaw of one kind or another, sooner or later. This is especially true of gadgets with moving parts. An airliner has lots of moving parts and when we can make airliners that are flawless, (rather than merely reliable), that will be the time to dump the pilot's seat. By the way, Holly, will the drinks trolley be coming around soon?

Would you have a quiet word with my missus ref the above? I think it would be better if she heard these suggestions from another lady, rather than yours truly... Wimmin get kinda set in their ways, don't they? We've had a fancy candle sitting on the bathroom window ledge since Jimmy Carter was President. It has never had a flame put near it in all that time. Nah, not once.
