Here is a possible solution to the lack key ring capabilities. This was on Velocity Monday night.

Neat idea, but will it work with keys that have computer chips in them ???

In order to hook anything to our precious computerized keys you'll have to drill a hole in them...
Lamont has shown us all where it's safe to drill through them... now it's a matter of gathering up the courage to do so...

I didn't the Spyder key would fit in that [thickness of the key] Also the extra weight of the holder might screw up the ignition switch.

Running the drill in reverse helps prevent tearing the rubber. FYI.

The chip is just beneath the "Can Am"... and centered in the key. (Kind of underneath the "n" )

i have to say that I like the idea. Maybe not for the spyder since I already use the "IPS" but would certainly work well for everyday keys. The Spyder key would be $25 just for the key since it is chipped on top of the $39 for for the Keyport. Might have to give it a try but not for my Spyder.

Could not have been eaisier! I used a small bit for a starter and then the second bit was larger to fit a standard ring. I placed a small lightweight garage fob on the ring - that is all the weight I have on the ring. I connect that ring to other rings or belt loop with a Caribiner. Keep above the Can Am name but remember don't go too far to the top edge or it could pull through.

I drilled the 1st key in the bottom dimple. The ring just passes over the ends. We put a horse-hair tassle on it.. I saw another on someone made and copied it with my versionKey pouch.jpg

    Default Time on your hands

Now I see where you guys get all your ideas for mods from...Time on your hands.. Or are you like me and with yourself. Was looking at the key-pouch and thought it needed a bit more flair, seeing the has a lot of flare.. The only drawback is the key is sewn in the pouch. No return without destruction... Better keep trying..Key Pouch 004.jpg

You don't need to drill it, the rubber is soft enough to push an awl through. A bit fuzzy you get the idea.

I was thinking of maybe stitching it far enough to insert the key, and make it so that one side had a long tail on it to pass thru the keyring and a snap could be used to finish it off. I just have a problem with having someones spare key or possibly several and get them mixed up

    Bouncin ideas off my head..
Key Pouch 006.jpgThe concho is the snap, might be a little bulky for some,{with key and concho about 1 1/4" thick.. I've got some pearl-snaps around here, I'll try that. would be smaller in thickness.

The snap idea seemed to be the ticket for retreiving the key, and not a lot of bulk in the pocket. I've talked to my patch designer, she thinks she'll be able to embroider on the material. I was thinking on using the Spider, but since everyone posts with the emo-cons on the right, I may have to try them as well..

What is it you don't like, the idea of something stitched or Spider in your pocket. I'm looking for opinions here... all the fob's shown are made from marine grade vinyl. I found some real soft leather in the bottom of the crap box. I feel the leather would look better, but the vinyl would hold up longer..Anyone, Please feel free to voice an opinion on what would work best under the conditions your in.
