The rear cargo compartment on my RTS is sor stuffed that it won't even hold a ball cap anymore. I keep removing it and going through it, but it all seems to be "essential". As a result, I stuff it back in. The front trunk has its fair share, too. I guess my BMW compartments are no better. I thought it would be fun to compare who carries what...and where So what's the Junk In Your Trunk?

When one is a) completely mechanically dis-inclined, and b) an eternal optimist, it does seem to result in less stuff...
Frunk:
Bike paperwork, otherwise empty (it holds both our BRP helmets when we stop). Usually toss the gloves in there too. If we're going on a picnic, we have a small insulated soft lunch bag that's a perfect fit that we put there instead of the helmets.
Left sidepod: rain gear for two (we live in Seattle, so it's there pretty much all the time...)
Right sidepod: usually empty, but for a trip, it has the travel cover and a Reda gas can.
Trunk: usually empty, but is where all the stuff for the current trip goes (Radgirl's purse, clothing layers discarded during the ride or at a stop, etc. On a longer trip we put a change of regular clothes in there too.)
I can't fix my way out of a paper bag, so no reason for me to carry any tools beyond the stock ones.

Pretty much the same here; but, I don't leave home without my master card.
Bare essentials other than clothing and iPod and garage door openers and a flashlight. If I breakdown I ain't kidding anybody when it comes to my lack of mechanical skills, especially with something as complex as the Spyder -- that's exactly why we bought the fancy warranty and have cell phones to call for them to come get us.
always carry the tank bag:
cell phone, ipod & cord to CB, extra bottle caps, keys to Corbin seat, pad-lock & key, writing utensil, extra key to bike, flash light, enough room for my purse
trunk: my tool kit, qt. oil, paper work, rain suit, umbrella, hat, extra gloves, towel, camera, extra head lamps, jumper cables
I'm going to go to the shop and check.....not sure
but when I travel...I have saddle bags for other stuff and a passenger seat bag.....

Forgot the glove box: garage door opener, and when riding to work, my badge that lets me in to park.
I am mechanically inclined, but with the Spyder I am a bit intimidated, so just the stock tools. I do realize I need a quart of oil and a flashlight.

All the post here, or at least most are proof of the axiom about space:
Regardless of the amount of space available, stuff will accumulate until more space is required.
On day trips, I carry a bare minimum of stuff, the papers for the and a space pair of gloves. A tube of generic wipes in case of a massive bug splat and a chamois to use after the wipe.
I'm sure when I start making longer trips I'll load up, that's why I have the Nelson Rigg 950 saddle bags and the BRP seat bag.
Scotty, I don't have that much stuff in my house and barn. However, I carry a .357 and two quarts of Everclear.
I traded my 2014 RT for a 2017 Mr. White RT-S. I am George Lewis. I live two miles from Boerne, TX. I am 89, retired USAF and Sony Corp. I also have a GW MotorTrike. My email: scoot62@aol.com
