Don't these guys put S & S engines in everything they build? I believe they are similar to HD.

Very similar, almost a clone but with more kick, most are in the 120cc range.

I don't know what S&S engines are; but, I was at OCC a few weeks back and I was impressed with all the choppers they had in their display windows. There were like 20 to 30 choppers. The one that I found the most fascinating was the one that had a stretcher attached to it.
I made a comment to someone that that was an awful lot of money to have tied up in their display choppers since it did not appear they were for sale. I was told that the Discovery Channel pays for all that they build. That is the channel that the show is on where I live.

Sounds like a corny build.
The bike that will be featured on American Chopper is unusual for the chopper industry. It is a reverse trike, with two wheels in the front and one in the back and mimics a corn picker. Every aspect of the commemorative chopper is unique and custom built. An American flag with the saying "God Bless the American Farmer," flies on the gas tank, along with an image of a two-row horse drawn planter, which is how the first Beck's Superior Hybrids seed was planted. The handle bar grips resemble an ear of corn and the side mirrors resemble the leaf of a corn plant. Driving on Hoosier tires, the wheels are made to resemble a planter plate.

Most if not all of their show bikes aren't street legal, A few years ago the Charity that OCC built a bike for were making the rounds selling chances
to win it, But before they can give it to the winner, They had to add on , Neutral light, kickstand cut off, turn signals, emergency killswitch, mirrors,etc.etc.
P/S I bought a chance, DIDN'T WIN.

Eh,okay
I think it would be cool if one of them based a build on the Spyder.
People recognize them enough that if they built one up it would be appreciated but also different than an hd.

I saw the trike at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Il about three weeks ago. It has one of the biggest S&S engines built and sounds great. It is a cool build for what it is( a 75th anniversary piece of advertising for Beck's Hybrids),albeit a bit "corny" as Lamont would put it. Still you have to respect the engineering and work that went into it.

I stopped watching the show a few years back when I realized the script every week went something like this:
- Junior goofs off
- Senior gets mad
- Junior makes excuses
- Senior drops the F-bomb
- Junior leaves in his truck for the rest of the day
- Senior slams the door
- Vinnie builds the bike
It was a primadona vs control-freak every week & one guy really working hard to make the bike.

SR owns a 2009 RS Spyder. It is in his garage and has also been seen in the OCC shop a few times. He collects many diffrent types of bikes and cars.

Be lucky you didnt win... Hubby and I won an OCC bike a couple of years ago up at Americade. It was the police chopper. Nice bike and all, but the taxes were almost $10,000.00 between state and fed!!!! Had to sell it to pay the gov! It's ok though, sold it to a local cop who rides it in parades and such, somenone hubby knew in school.
However, that being said, never good to owe the gov that much money! It was a horrid feeling, like being crushed... The gove took, just over 33% of the value of the bike! Never thought we would win, just a good cause so we bought the ticket. Next time, if its not money, we just donate. (Money, the gov takes there portion right off the top, so its nver missed)
