I carried a can of fix a flat in my trunk for 3 + years never had to use it.
Every so often i would replace it with a fresh can, I guess it became a good luck charm,
I figured the first time i went out with out it I'll probably would have gotten a flat.

JMHO, but you are better off with a small compressor and a tire plugger. For a real good job, the Stop-N-Go tire plugger is great. Better yet, put Ride-On in your tires.

Check with your local dealer.. I bought a tire repair kit at mine.. It comes with plugs, glue an 2 C02 cartridges.. You can put the C02 in a little gun to air the tires back up.. Mine was 17.00...

It will take a lot more than two cartidges, even the giant ones, to fill a Spyder tire enough to limp to a gas station. Even for my BMW I carry a pack of spare cartridges.

I haven't used Ride-On but I certainly agree with carrying the compressor and Stop-N-Go tire plugger. The compressor and the tire plugger together take up very little room in the bottom of the rear trunk of the RT. I've never had a flat tire while on the road (knocking on wood big time), but I've seen the compressor and plugger kit used twice on the road by other riders and they work very well. The small compressor takes a while to fill up a tire but it gets the job done. From all accounts Ride-On also works very well.

I'm a "tire plug & compressor" guy myself; Putting that goop in the tire just makes the mechanics SOOOOOO happy when they've got to replace the tire!

AT $80+ bucks an hours they can deal with it. If it prevents a flat on the road, I'll keep using Ride-On and not worry about the techs.
    Love my

Statistics show that most motorcycle accidents are caused by a defective nut holding the handlbars.

I use Ride On in my tires and I just had the front tires replaced. I got no complaints from the techs but they did want to know what the stuff was as they had never heard of it. It doesn't make a mess it coats the bottom of the tire only and doesn't stay liquid.

Does the compressor run on batteries, or would you need a 12V adapter?

Runs off the bikes battery, Ether off a 12v adapter, or alligator clips, Most compressors come with both, plus a hard wire connector.
