Warranties are a tricky thing. I'm not Wal-Mart so I can't afford to replace wires for any reason at all. I can't imagine someone having an issue with these unless, A) They really abused them or, B) There was some fault on my part in assembly. If the wires are faulty then I will make it right. If you have an issue with these wires let me know and we will go from there.

I think I am a pretty reasonable guy, but then everyone thinks that of themself and we know it isn't always true. I will do my best to make a customer happy.

The biggest mistake was in saying something before I had them ready. I've been surpised at how much I've had to put into this project. You'd think a set of simple spark plug wires would be a piece of cake!

Don't get discouraged Ron; We'll wait if we have to!
Years ago a very talented fellow developed a unique and very strong bumper for the Yamaha Grizzly 660s. (The stocker would twist up under a withering glance!)
I was lucky enough to get the 3rd one he made. He shut down production because it was so labor-intensive and folks were so impatient...
So hang in there and we appreciate your talented solution!

    Hey Ron -

I know you are busy with these wire sets and and all. It sounds like there may be a bit of a wait. I would like to order a set of wires and a set of plugs for Phantom 14 (2009 Phantom GS). When you are in a position to take more orders please let me know and we can proceed. May need some other stuff too but we can discuss that over email. Just wanted you to know that I am excited about your wire solution. Thanks man!

Default A Beautiful Sight to See!

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! But this looks good to me. These wires are AWESOME!

I shipped out most of the orders today and I've still got some wire sets left. I ran out of Iridium Spark Plugs. I thought I had more but what I've got left are not for the Spyder so I've got to get some more plugs in. Hopefully I can get things rolling smoothly soon.

Thanks to everyone for your support. As usual, I've just got too many irons in the fire!

Don't they though! Your order shipped out yesterday....

For those who will be receiving these soon, I sent instructions also. Not that this is a difficult install but it may be a first for some. Like everything else the instructions are a work in progress, so any input will be appreciated. What I think is clear in print may not be all that clear in your hand. We have all gotten instructions that are worse than none at all so I know how it is.

One thing I know I need to improve is clarification on the Thermo Paste and the Dielectric Grease.

If you got wires you will receive a blister pack of Dielectric grease. If you got spark plugs you get a blister pack of Thermo Paste. The instructions tell you what to do with them, but if you got both plugs and wires they don't tell you which is which.

The White blister pack is the Thermo Paste and the Clear blister pack is the Dielectric Grease. You don't want to get these switched up!

Thanks to everyone for making this an enjoyable project.

I made them this way for the sole purpose of matching your Spyder! The shame is that you'll be covering them up with all the Tupperware. But they will work just as well even though you can't see them.

Also impressed, thanks Ron. One question, how do you center the coil wire end in the boot to install or do I just wiggle it into place.

If you straighten out the coil boot, the wire will center itself in the boot. You can do this in your hand to see how it works. It doesn't have to be perfect, just close.

First, start the boot onto the coil. Once you have it on 1/4" or so, it is easy to straighten out the boot as you have leverage against the coil. Then slide the boot all the way onto the coil and you will feel and hear a slight 'Pop' as the terminal ends mate up. The terminal end is recessed quite a ways into the coil.

    Here is a copy of the current instructions just in case;

Thank you very much for purchasing my Custom Ignition Wire Set. I’ve put a fair amount of research and energy into this project and I think you’ll find these wires to be some of the best you’ve ever owned.

From the Large Diameter, Low Impedance Spiral Wound Race Wire, to the High Quality Accel Silicone Boots, these are the highest quality components I could find. Not only will these wires deliver a stronger spark while reducing the load on your coil, they will far outlast OEM wires.

You do not need to remove the air box to change spark plugs but you may need to remove the top and loosen the lower portion of the air box to replace the front cylinder spark plug wire if it is zip tied to other components.

    Spark Plugs
Do not use Anti-Seize or Dielectric on Spark Plug Threads! You Must Use Thermal Paste! Apply a THIN layer of White Thermal Paste to Spark Plug Threads (White Packet Supplied). Do not get Thermal Paste on the Spark Plug Electrodes.

    Wire Installation Instructions
Installation of these wires is straight forward. It is best to replace l wire at a time. After removing 1 wire, route the new wire in the same way making sure there is no contact with the engine or other hot or sharp parts.

Apply a SMALL amount of Clear Dielectric Grease (supplied) to the inside of the Spark Plug Boot. DO NOT apply Dielectric to the Coil Boot!

    G
rasp the plug boot at the wire end. Be sure that the terminal seats properly over the spark plug connector.

    Coil End Install
The only tricky part is the coil end. Because the Coil Boot has a 45 degree angle, the wire terminal end will lay against the side of the boot. This terminal end needs to be centered in the coil boot so that it will mate correctly with the Coil Terminal. This is easily accomplished by straightening out the Coil Boot as you install it. DO NOT apply Dielectric Grease to the Coil Boot!

Position the Coil Boot so that the bend is angled upwards towards the frame where the wire will be routed. Start the coil boot onto the coil, then straighten the coil boot centering the terminal end and slide the Boot onto the Coil as far as it will go. You should be able to feel the wire terminal slide on over the coil terminal.

If you have any questions orcomments, please email me at fyredad@hotmail.com or PM me (bajaron) onSpyderlovers.com web forum.
