I don't know your specific situation, I am just speaking generally here.

I have heard the 'Shoei Head' comment from other customers. I find that many times they have tried on an Arai helmet, it didn't fit well and the Shoei did, so they get the idea that they have a Shoei Head.

Unlike any other helmet company, Arai helmets come in 4 different head shapes, from Long Oval (Football head) to Round Oval (Basketball head) with 2 variations in-between.

The Shoei is a Round Oval helmet shell. Arai makes 2 helmets, the RX-Q and the Vector-2, that are different variations on the Round Head shell. The RX-Q being the more round and the Vector-2 being slightly less round.

I'm not here to talk you out of your Shoei (a great product) or anyone out of their favorite helmet. But it is difficult to find a head that will not fit well into the correct Arai helmet, even a Shoei headed person.

I have run into many cases where a saleman will tell a buyer whatever it takes to sell what they have on the shelf. This tends to give the customer bad information that they may use for years resulting in them getting the wrong helmet again.
