Default Things that make you go hmmmm?

Whatever happened to the pulley bone?

You never see them any more. Used to be my favorite.

We will see who knows what I am talking about!

Pulley bone was the best. No one will cut up a chicken that way anymore. I am sure it has something to do with money some way or another. Loved to play the game where you see who was going to have good luck.

I only knew it as the wishbone of the chicken. According to an article I found, the term pulley bone originated in the 'South'.

Right also; beer can opener before pop tabs,
Every time you would buy beer in cans [tin] the cashier would throw you a few Church keys.

Not true. I'm a 5th generation Flowridian and we call it a wishbone.

I believe it's the number of twists of the wrist it takes to open a standard c-rat can.

I'll be that you could open up a can of beans pretty well with a German P38 too! Or the P08 for that matter...

The P38 was THE best can opener ever made. And yes, it'd even open a beer can (before pull tabs). They came in every box of C rats. Even worked as a common screwdriver in a pinch. Anyone remember the cigs that came with the rats? Pall Malls, Lucky Strikes, Camels and, if you were lucky, Marlboros. MREs can't compare to those little cardboard boxes.

I don't remember the cigarettes with the ''C''s, But that was 45 years ago, We got full cartons with the Sundry's drop, Every 4 /5 days, Also Batteries for my Pic 25.
Oh yea ammo too, And water, Some times the slicks drop it right though the triple canopy.
I do remember the little peanut butter cans , They made great Sterno by adding mosquito repellent to them,.
