Default Baby's got new shoes..... ;-)

Put new front tires on both my and Tina's Spyder over the weekend..... WOW --- forgot how great these ride with new tires on!

When putting Tina's back on I noticed that her dealer never balanced them! No wheel weights at all. We used the Ride-on balancing method and life is good.

Had to drive to Cement City to get tires-- was shocked they had 4 fronts in stock. Ran into SpyderAnne01 there too.

Monday I finished mine up by putting a new rear on---- all I can say is WOW ---- it's easy to forget how nice these ride with new tires on!

Also put Seth's Penske shocks on the front--- but they're just too soft for my additional massiveness...... Guess they use different springs depending on rider weight........ wonder if Elka does the same?

First- WOW, there is a place called Cement City that sells tires!! I thought all they would sell is cement!! OK, so I'm not the first guy with that line.....

Elka Shocks- I'm 265 and mine came tensioned for my weight. I THINK all they do is change the tension.

How long does the tire's normally last on the spyder. I ask this because I just got my spyder and was curious.

I get around 14,000 miles from the fronts and 8,000 from the rear--- which is really really good compared to most motorcycle tire swaps--- but many (most?) out here seem to get far more miles out of them.

I'm not going to run them down nearly as far as I have in the past as the new ones feel SO great--- and the cost isn't that bad--- fronts are around $65 each and rear is $125.

I'm gonna keep a closer eye on them and probably change them closer to 10,000 on fronts and 5,000 on rear.

Not sure--- good question to ask them though. Guy at Penske told me they use different size springs depending on weight.

Switching back to my RT front shocks--- will run those until winter and hope that Santa brings me some Elka's......

If I take my front wheels off and take them to get tires mounted, does this set any codes that I would then have to take the bike to get codes erased?
