    Question:
Who brought them together? The Spyder or HD?
SpyderLovers brought them together, of course!

Scotty would be correct-- spyderlovers brought us together. Whoda thought we'd have a double breakdown 10 miles away from where HDX lives?

I knew when I posted the help thread someone could point us in the right direction- and I knew this was HDX territory and had no doubt that if he was around and able to help that he would.

I told my pals when things happened that I could post on this site and would have some good options by morning and that I knew someone in the area that knew HD's really well and had tools, etc. and that I'd bet he could help.

Lou(HDX) and my pal Doug did most the wrenching using various tools from Lou and myself. So me and HDX wrenching on a couple of HD's together--- priceless!!!

Great people and overall made for a great day. Got both guys running safe back on the road. We made it to Worcester for a great dinner and micro-brews--- then made it to Boston safe and sound.

Quite the unexpected experiences so far on this trip- but that's what makes them memorable.

Will post more later and tell the whole story a bit better when I can get time to be on my computer.

Honored to call Lou and Kim friends.

Oh---- and one of the guys booked us in a hostel in Boston for 2 nights. Never done this kind of thing before ----- and won't ever again.

I like a nice clean room bed and shower!

Here's a pic of the dorm type quarters we are staying in. Realize there is also the guy taking the photo with us--- so 5 total in a room that could barely fit a spyder.

    Joy. Not. What an adventure.

Firefly, are you guys still going from Boston up north near Canada before you head home ???

Now what are we going to do on Spyderlovers now that we can't argue with HDX ??? He really came through for you guys so I can't bust his chops about oil anymore.

This so reminds me of when President Ronald Regan brought our USA together with Russia. It's that important !!!

That would be cool as we can use a nice vacation - last one was TN 2 years ago and since then job changes, etc, it's been insane but hopefully this summer at some point!

This is one road trip you won't forget. Glad you got to make new friends!

One question though... two bunk beds, five guys... did someone have to sleep on the floor?

Spyder Lovers helping each other out doesn't get any better than this meeting between you and HDX. Great trip report so far. Best of luck on your continued journey.

We have stayed at some real funky places before, and stayed at Hostels before, but you win hands down for best dive!
Hope skinny young Frankie got a discount on his sleeping arrangement...

This mixed-blessing adventure is behind you, hope the rest of your ryde is a bit smoother!

And the amazing news for the day....(I'll have to better detail this trip once I get home)

You all know we had 2 HD's that got tire damage-- another one had his left saddle bag fall off going 70 mph on the freeway. Trashed the bag but we got some of the contents back.

So on our way out of Boston we stop at Boston Harley in search of a new left saddle bag.

Well- not only did they have the ($475) bag in stock---- they gave it to him FREE of charge !!!

They had the exact bag leftover from one of their rental bikes just sitting in the back room. They had no use for it so they gave it to him. Has some scuffs on it but so does his other one.

What are the chances of them having that same bag and giving it to him??

    Wow!
