    Default Newbie question about backfiring...

I own a 2009 SE5 with a Two Brothers single exhaust with a -7db tip. I have been experiencing a backfire through down shifting and coming to a stop. I love the sound, but not sure if it is hurting anything. I only have about 500 miles on the motor and only 100+ miles on the exhaust.

This backfiring started when I installed the extra tip that reduces the sound -7db.

Do you thing I need an O2 sensor??

Thanks in advance everyone in advance. Maybe this has already been discussed, but not able to find anything.

F.Y.I. I do not have any mods to air box or engine.

A mechanical expert will come on with your answer.

It does appear from other threads (you will have to search) that muffler mod's can cause that problem.

The fact that it started after a mod--is a clue.

Wish I could be of more help--but that is not my area of expertise.

Hang tough--you will get some answers.

This is a common problem/question. The 02 modifier will take care of your problem more than likely...Do a search..

It still happens from time to time but, 02 mod is the fix.

The 02 sensor cured my backfiring with the Hindle exhust and made the motor run better.
