    Default Bugs

OK I admit I am bored today so I am probably posting too much. But

As a lifetime biker I can tell you I have eaten Lots of bugs. I can tell you that many are horrible and bitter but some actually taste pretty good. Problem is I have no idea which are which since they are always exploded.

Can anyone identify the good ones?

The only thing I now is the last thing that goes through a bugs mind when it hits your face shield is........ its rear end.

I can ride 100 miles here, and have one or (perhaps) two bug splatters… If I choose to hit the valley farmlands, then there's a tad bit more mess - mosquitos and nats generally.

Haven't seen a June bug since I left MO in the late 50's. Biggest thing we have out here is the occasional grasshopper. However, we DO have western hornets - a bee sized nasty that can sting/bite/rip MANY times. Get one up your pant leg (as I did), and you'll be w/o pants on the side of the road ASAP!!!

Hitting a bee at anything above 60mph will get your attention. Hitting a swarm of them will leave you with knots on you face.

June bugs are pretty much gone. But, the Japaneses beetles have arrived. They sound like pellets hitting the windshield. They cling to your clothes and can bite like . Full face is only the way to go during bug season here on the prairie. And, I keep my mouth shut, my diet doesn't permit me to indulge.

Chasing is fine cause the two kitty Cats around these parts can't get close enough for the Deere's to be concerned with them.

Try not to eat the flys, you don`t know where they have been. You are right though some are better than others.

Except when you hit a big dragonfly and it explodes on impact any you can no longer see through your shield. That calls for a hasty exit from the roadway to get things cleaned up. Always carry extra microfiber towels and a can of cleaning spray in the trunk.

I always wear a full-face helmet with a full shield... but I still don't like the goop that gets plastered on it when a Kamikazee attack occurs!
