I can't believe it happened. What a wild experience, something that I needed and it had such a good turn out...it's gonna happen again! Quite a memorable visual of an open track day. Super Moto's, pockets bikes, liter machines, v-twins sports and shifter carts. That track was so sticky, I had no need for a 3rd wheel much of the time, nanny is sleeping good tonight. I hope the photographer got some good shots, I need a few.

Where is this? When is the next track day? How does someone sign up? What is the cost to get on the track?

This is an all purpose track sponsored by Musselman Honda here in Tucson. It allows go carts, shifter carts, pocket bikes, supermoto, maybe more and now an occasional motorcycle night. This was the first and met with great success, they do plan to do it again at this point. You can sign up with Tucsonsb.com(tucson sportbike) and watch the rides as they are posted. This was the first, it may get tweeked a little and they may raise the fee. This initial test required helmet, jacket, gloves, pants and boots. Some taped up lights, I did not...this may become mandatory, but spyders may be allowed to slide. Obviously were not going to go down, although...I was on 2 wheels quite alot. There was way more traction and much tighter here than any street I have been on. The VSS was very busy and I was worn out. I loved it, felt like I had been at the gym all day. I think they are going to try to set up an exclusive Tucson sportbike and Tucson sport rider night to eliminate all the other activity(supermoto, pit bike, carts), but you can ride one if you are a member. Hopefully they will leave this a very basic assembly, some people are already going in the direction of a regular AMA track day, I hope not, it will die off. Nobody is interested in that level of rules and restriction. Just 1 step above the streets...no cops or traffic or traffic signs and lights. Just some personal integrity and riding within your limits. No risk taking or competition that puts others in harms way.

Heyyyy....Happening again on Aug 26th and 27th. This is getting some life and a 2 night format is in effect along with interest/experience level. I'm going Friday night, it's the novice night and cheaper. Bring a machine and give it a try. Saturday will be more track bike orientated, probably sport machines and leather only.

Good/bad, the interest has really grown and so has the attendance. Too many for a Spyder to participate, maybe next time. It's gettin' serious, gonna have to find and prep a track bike.
