    Default The Irishman has passed

I know that Tricky Dick posted this on the off topic but since so many don't get back there often I brought it up.

    email from his brother

First let me apologize for doing this in this manner, but I had to use one of Brian's old e-mails.
It is with great sorrow that I inform you of the death of my brother Brian at 133Pm on 6/21/11 at John Hopkins hospital in Baltimore ,Md.. He succumbed to multiple infections after a gallant 14 day fight. He is now with his true love Phoebe.
Nothing is scheduled as of yet.
Arrangements are being headed up by his son and daughter.

    He will be missed
My sincere condolences for your loss.

Brian (The Irishman) has many friends who ride spyders may I pass along this information to them.

    Gene Sturm

Thank you and please do,I would like the world to know of his passing. He had so many friends and I will try to reach them all.

Great photo. Just the way he looked when I talked to him at the Red Roof Inn in Gatlinburg. I enjoyed talking to him and listening to his stories. Great company and a good Irishman!

I'm still in total shock over this and very saddened by his passing. He was a fun guy to hang out with and I had the honor of having a Smithwicks or two with him a few times in the Smokies.

He had a great sense of humor -- and could take it as well as he could dish it out. He got quite a kick out of the razzing he got for not attending the 2010 Spyderfest event--- and made darn sure to show up this year-- and I'm glad he did!

Very sorry to read this. Although I only met him once, at Spyderfest, we had a good conversation. He seemed like a great guy.

Oh man what a shock! I rode with Irish and Tricky Dick to the Santa Monica pier last year. What a great guy and a great loss to our community.

Irish had made a webpage for us to track his "Trip of a lifetime" here:

    http://www.jbriankelly.com/Route%2066/66index.htm

It's still operational --- might want to check it out while it's still up and running.

A good lesson can be learned from this---- if you put off things you really want to do -- you may never get the opportunity to do them!

Glad he was able to get this trip in !!

    Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.

Irish also was the originator of the various 'scavenger hunts' that were done out here -- something he really enjoyed doing and many participated in.

Maybe we can do an 'Irish' scavenger hunt in his honor? Perhaps one searching for uniquely 'Irish' items??

    Thoughts? Ideas???

Like the uniquely 'Irish' items theme.

I'm still going to work on Irish's Scavenger Hunt in his honor. Have yet to load up all the pictures from our trip onto GoogleDoc for the post.
