    Default RT Battery Replacement Needed

My 2010 RT battery doesn't seem to hold a charge like it used to. I try to keep it on a tender when the bike isn't being used but it just doesn't hold a charge like it did when new (13 months old). Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement? Is the same type battery used in both the RS and RT?

    Thanks.

Here are a couple of ideas. I have never replaced my battery (2 months old) but I read these are good.

I traded my 2014 RT for a 2017 Mr. White RT-S. I am George Lewis. I live two miles from Boerne, TX. I am 89, retired USAF and Sony Corp. I also have a GW MotorTrike. My email: scoot62@aol.com

I haven't, although I thought it might be a good idea that they do while they, the dealer, is doing all the rewiring on my spyder. I figured that they would have ALL the plastic off and it would be a lot easier to do then.

Thanks Big Red. So do you think the RS and RT take the same size battery?

I do not know, but they are the same "running gear" so I would think so. As I recall, Lamont posted these battery sites as he changed his RT battery....do a search or look for the battery number on your battery after you remove it or call your dealer service manager.

At 13 Months old, would this be a warranty issue? Call your dealer and check.

The battery warranty is six months. Check your manual for standard warranty provisions.

    Default Battery Replacement

My battery crapped out. It won't hold a charge. I can find a replacement but my problem is getting the old battery out. I have the top panel removed and I have unhooked the rubber hold-down strap. The battery still acts like it is being held down by something. Any clues?

Exactly why I had my dealer install a new battery when all the panels were off and they were installing the wiring harness.

Probably just needs a wiggle and a two handed tug.
