Chrome Heat shield and Exhaust Tip
I bit the bullet and bought the accessory from BRP and it came today. I was pleased that it only took 2 and a half months to get it. Got home replaced the exhaust tip and went for the heat shield and just had to smile. The third bold is under the right saddlebag and I had to remove the right side panel to get to it. Not a big deal, but just one of those scratch your head times....

You are 100% right about that 3rd bolt! I told that to a guy today at SpyderFest and you could see his heart sink! He's not in the mood to remove tupperware to put in one bolt.
BUT... the end results are pretty cool looking!

I think BRP missed the boat on the chrome by not offering it as a option on a built bike off the production line .
Yeahhhhh about those.... I looked at Lamonster's and.... nope! I'm a geek not a glutton for punishment

So, for the foot peg support, any tips or tricks or special tools I might need? I am thinking about getting them today.

For those thinking of doing the Handlebar... Please see this link as I have posted the Instructions. As far as I am concerned this is a weekend job that would include folks adding the electronic air horns, and HID's and power commanders as the front end is pretty well torn down to say the least.
Post # 7 here... http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=27470
Also... As I looked into the foot rest area I learned the the drivers side is very easy to do, but the passenger side requires a serious amount of the tuppeware to be removed and I guess part of the brake mechanism??? Sorry, no instructions... I decided to wait on that one

Looks really good. I like the lower chrome. That must get lite up really nice with your lights under the passenger footrest.
Life should NOT be journey to grave with intention of arriving safely in attractive and well-preserved body, but rather you skid in sideways on 1 leg with body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Not sure what you mean by only the handlebars.... If you look around the site they have all the chrome that BRP has available.

Bob I think if you go to the BRP accessories they have a tab for installs .

Thanks! I'll go dig around over there and see if I can get an eye on it...

Arrrgggg!!! Why BRP, why!!! The instructions don't even mention having to take the tupperware off!!! Guess I need to go back outside to install the 2 screws I just took out!!!! Curse you BRP!!! I will tackle it over the weekend I guess.

I tried jacking up my Spyder last night for the first time to see if maybe the back swingarm would come down enough to get my hand in there. No go. Just fyi in case someone else tries it. I am taking it in for the 6000 mile service next week, wonder how far they tear it down for that service. Probably not that far. I will mention it to them just in case.

Chrome parts
After my wife saw a 2012 Limited she wanted these chrome items. I was sending a couple racks to my chrome shop and decided to send the heat shield and muffler tip along too.
The parts returnd looking beautiful in just a couple of weeks and the cost was at least $100.00 cheaper than buying the BRP parts.
