Starting from the back, Sam (can-am sam) And Celeste Hillde, Me and Hubby (Jeff), Brad (Draboo) and Pat Nicholson. Its so neat that people who have never met each other can hit it off so well. We are all friends we know well, but haven't met yet. That is the magic of SpyderLovers.

Just want to add that Hubby is the photographer on this road trip. Think he's doing a great job!

Figured Hubby needed some recognition for his photographic skills. The ferry ride will be a nice break.

Glad you got to meet Draboo and his wife. We met them on our journey in 2009 in Lynnwood, WA and had a great, though short, visit. Enjoy your journey...it will be one you can relive in years to come. Ride safe, always.

You guys ride in style. We had everything packed, including a laptop, in 2 GIVI saddlebags and the trunk of our 2008 GS SE5!

No styling it here. The trailer is full of camping gear and stuff we hope never to use. All the things for daily use is on the bikes.

Default Bellingham, Washington and on the ferry...

The ferry leaves at 6:00 p.m., we have to be there at 3:00. Had a little extra time.

    Fishing boats in the harbor.

At the Port of Bellingham, met up with Bill Shane (1stfan).

    Spydee in the staging area.

    The maw of the Malaspina.

A side view of the Malaspina.

This is where we will be for the next three days on our way up to Haines, Alaska. Going to have a couple days R & R. Bad news is, there is no cell service so will have to save up all our pictures till we are up in Alaska.

Thank you all for such wonderful support! Hoping to get some pictures of Orca for Y'all...

Watch out for those trucks and flying gravel. It can be real painful when the trucks fly by.

+1 And be wary of riding on the gravel in general. Two friends of mine, brothers, did an Alaska ride two years ago on their Spyders after attending the LA owners event. One lost control on the loose gravel (and poor road conditions) and went off the road. He was really banged up and the Spyder was wrecked. He had to be airlifted to a hospital after he was picked up by a passing motorist and driven to the closest town.

The Alcan Highway can be dangerous if the rider is not careful. It is mostly paved now and you only run into gravel sections where the road is being repaired. There is not much traffic on the road where you will be--we saw a car about every 20 minutes in that section last July. You should be all right on your trip.

We have The Mile Post. When a semi comes by, they recommend stopping you bike and hunkering behind it. Think Spydee will have great proctection that way...

Hope your friends is mended up now. Learned how slippery and treacherous gravel can be going through the construction zone. Never fly faster than your Guardian Angles.

On the ferry, more than one person said 'the Haines Highway through Canada has lots of frost heaves. Watch your speed.' Going to take their advice as practice for the Alcan.

Glad to hear your Ferry ride was a good one. Happy to hear your weather is

better! I really look forward to checking in here every night to see how

your trip is going! It's fun living this trip through you!!! Today I

was stopped at a store and someone stopped me to talk about my .

They are considering purchasing one and wanted to know all about the bike

and how it was to travel long distances on it. As an new owner of only about

8 weeks, I told them I didn't have too much experience with that but gave

them the Spyder Lovers site and told them to check it out and that we had

one member doing an Alaska trip as well as other members traveling all

over the country! Who knows, maybe we will see that couple at

    a Spyderfest some day!
