It all depends on your head set. You can have a good time or a bad time. Just depends where your coming from.

The roads through the snow were wet but clear. We followed a car to watch the water in the corners. If there was a splash, go for it. If no splash going over a shiny spot, slow down!

    Final Destination?

We had Alaska on our list for travel next year and just moved it to the TOP!! 9Fingers did the Pruhoe Bay run 2 years ago on a KLR650 and has never stop talking about it.

Keep the info and pics coming and take good care of that BMW rider you are with.....

Final destination? We don't know for sure. Our iteniary was thrown out the window coming up to Spyderfest. We've been following the weather and trying to keep out of the storms. Our goal is Alaska and beyond that, everything is good.

I remember talking to y'all at Lamont's BBQ. Thanks for all the information about the roads in Alaska!

Very much taking care of my BMW rider. On the slick / wet twisties I put him in the lead. That way, if he biffs it, I try not to run over him first.

    Electric underwear, really?
Mr. Bill was a present from Son. Thought he would give us good luck but the road knows better. Everything has it's place in the universe, and Mr. Bill wants to be in Montana.

Yeah, as far as Alaskan construction goes, glad we got a taste of things to come.

I call it electric underwear. Its heated riding gear. There are so many different makers of the stuff, wanted to make it a generic name. Electric underwear.

The trailer is pulling great! Didn't even feel it in the cross winds. The only time I can tell its back there is when stopped on a hill and starting to go forward. It takes some torque to get things rolling up hill.

One reason we chose this trailer is because of its high clearance. Came in handy going through the construction zone.

    Default Montana

This is the first day since leaving Cuba we didn't get out the rain gear. Excellent high speed roads sweeping this way and that, lazily weaving through the hills.

We climbed up into the mountains just east of Butte Montana and crossed the Continental Divide.

Gassed up in Drummond and couldn't pass this up...
Did I tell you Montana is cattle country?

We settled down for the night in St. Regis Montana. A small logging town nestled in the mountains. This is a view outside our hotel.

The WiFi signal was weak, the people friendly. Had a great evening!

    Default Montana, Idaho and Washington

    Invisible Rain...

You can't feel it, you can't see it. All you can know is that you're getting wet somehow. The only way to tell is to look for the slight dimples in the puddles. Thats what we woke up to and thats what we headed out in.

We went up into the Coeur D'Alene Mountains. Nearing the Lookout Pass Summit, the drizzle turned into snow. It didn't stick thank goodness. This was our first experience riding in the snow. Pretty neat because we don't get much of the white stuff down south.

Just want to put a little mountain riding story in here... The first mountain I rode a motorcycle up was Mt. Shasta. It was terrifying and humiliating. It was terrifying because we were on the outside lane going around the mountain. The beautiful vistas gave me a bad case of vertigo. The humiliating part was semi's were passsing me. Going up hill.

Many miles later, have learned to relax, focus on the road and don't take my eyes off the road. Hubby and I had a great time doing the twisties coming off this mountain. Looking forward to more!

We came into the plains of Eastern Washington. Miles and miles of cultivated farmland. The traffice then swirled around, gaining altitude. Then back down to the most awesome sight. Moses Lake.

We are hunkering down for a couple days. Hubby is visiting with family and I'm going to expolore the countryside around here.

    Milage thus far is 3,584.

Looks like you will be in good training if you drive Hatcher's Pass--They had a little more snow last weekend than your pictures--but will be mostly gone by the time you get here.

I'm originally from SW Washington, it's looking like you're going to miss my area, but I've been on that section of I-90 and would love to take the spyder on it one day.

you're also somewhat stealing my roadtrip idea. haha from San Diego to Deadhorse, to Key West, to Jacksonville, and back to San Diego...knocking out 5 Ironbutt rydes in one trip.

Don't know if we're doing Hatcher's Pass. Hubby is the navigator and he's off visiting family right now. We will be staying in Palmer for a bit though.

We timed the trip to be in Alaska after the snow and before the rain. Hope things have thawed out by the time we get up there.

I-90 going over the mountain was awesome! Its way different on a Spyder than a car.

Didn't mean to steal your thunder. It will be a neat to ryde from the northern most point of the states to the most southern point.

As for Ironbutts, lost mine years ago. Ryde safe and post pictures.
