Thank you two for your beautiful photos and wonderful blog entries...I just discovered them this evening and have loved reading it all.
Safe riding the rest of the way!

Great that you two camped all the way. We did the tent thing one night... (O.k., I was a wuss...)
Never know whats down the road. Follow your heart and all will fall in place.

Those are beautiful pictures. Can't wait until you hit the Utah red rocks. Moab is beautiful--are you going to Arches National Park? I have yet to see that one.

We're in Green River, Utah right now. There's cloud cover with sprinkles now and then. We go through Moab on the way to Durango. If the weather's good, will explore the Arches National Park. If the weather's bad, will make fast time to Durango.

I can not tell you how much I want to make a trip similiar to yours. I would love nothing more then to be able to afford the trip. I want to take my son on this trip, it is something he would remember for the rest of his life and a memory that would never be far from my mind. The smile on his face would be everything to me.
Right now I am living that trip through you, but I hope to be able to do it. My son is 12 right now, this year or next would be perfect age for him.

Don't have to do the whole trip, maybe bits and pieces. Exposing your kids to different environments and ways of life helps them understand there is more to life than whats in their neck of the woods.
You are a Great Dad!

My dad had the adventure spirit and we put on so many miles, dozens of trips across the country, during my growing up years..... and you are so right, that's something a kid never forgets. I really hope you get to make a trip with your son.
And Joy, thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us!!!!

Three things....
- Again the travel log is amazing. Thanks so much for the extra time it takes to do this for us all.
- I do understand fully, but wish you and hubby could be here in MV so we could meet and personally thank you for the effort.
- I'm pretty well convinced that you have no eyes EVERY shot you have your sunglasses on!!

Glad you like Arches National Park--Your pictures are great.
Also glad you liked the narrow gauge RR. Had you went to Skagway (100 miles or so, south of Whitehorse) you could have rode the Yukon and White Pass RR through the mountains--same views and set up. We drove the road on the Spyders last summer from Whitehorse to Skagway--but did not take the train ride--since we did not have a whole day to do that.
We were also treated to some nice "nosebleed" views for about 25 miles as we entered the valley to Skagway.
Linda says hello also.
