RT Rear Speakers
Ok... I have an RT with the convience package.. No rear speakers, but do have audio up front.
Question:
Is the speaker enclosures wired for the speakers?
I almost bought a read speaker kit, for 149 bucks, but when I opened the package there were 2 speakers, a package of Bolts and a Control for the passenger..... But NO HARNESS, but the CAN AM Accessory book, most recent one, states that the harneess is included... but NO NO NOl and the box had a factory seal, or at least I thought so.
Who knows that the harness is not to be purchased but is already installed?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes the wiring is there. I found out by buying the can am rear speaker kit and the "included wire harness" is the peice that allows the passenger to change the radio.
I put my polk audio rear speakers in before plugging in the control and they work fine...just have to adjust the fader to the center...

Forrest, don't waste your money on the stock speakers; johnny and I both have had a rear speaker blow, and neither of us crank it up loud or use a lot of bass; I set mine to midrange on everything and the left side sounded like a bad boombox car at a traffic light!!
Go to Best Buy and they usually stock Polk Audio DXI400 speakers for the rear. I think I paid about $70 and they sound much better. I believe these are same ones Dave1 put in his.

I agree. I put the polk audios in mine, both front (DXI525) and the rear (DXI400) and they sound awesome...
If you are not in a hurry, get them from cowboom.com. It is a best buy outlet and you can get these for $25 plus shipping. The ones I got look to be floor models...

not working
I just purchased a 2012 RT but the rear speakers are not working. Does anyone have a link to a diagram or instruction so that i can pull this apart to check for loose wires?

Which sub-model RT do you have?
The base model
The Audio & convenience model
The RT-S
The RT-Limited
The Base model had no sound system
The A&C got the sound system, but with only front speakers (Rear speakers could be added)
Only the RT-S and Limited models got all four speakers as standard equipment.
