Very nice job. How well can you hear that speaker system at speed on the Spyder? I guess it would also help to know what kind of helmet you wear when ryding.

I ride with a shoei RF-1100 firestrike helmet and can hear the music up to 35 MPH with the shield down. The music is more for showing off when at traffic lights, gas station, back roads at 25 mph. etc..

I have to represent Team RS when I'm stopped at a traffic light. So you have to look good and sound good
No offense but I need to break the image that the Spyder is for the older touring crowd. (I'm sure I'll catch flak for this comment, hehehe).

You may catch some flak from some, but definitely not from me. When I sat on the RT it did not feel like a good fit for me at all. Perhaps someday, but I am hoping that day is still a long ways a way.
I need to get busy and make a couple more videos as well.

If you don't give up, they can't win.
What a long strange journey its been.

I agree, lately the RT has been getting all the attention but we all know that the RS is way cooler. Did you say the HIDs were $35, I couldn't quite make it out..

Just scan ebay for HID kits for your bulb type. They start around 35 bucks with free shipping. For 5-10 bucks more you can get smaller ballasts but the normal size ballasts work just fine. Only reason I went with the smaller ones was concerns over space for mounting them on the RS.

Start saving up for a new sound system for when you replace that stock pipe with a Micron...

I was looking for LEDs but most places wanted $150-300 for them which is over priced IMO. I don't need super cree LEDs with polished optics on the end. I just want to light the bike up, wanted something that would be water proof, cycle through colors, be able to cut-to-size, and have a remote.
So I went through a chinese distributor site and picked them up for 58 bucks. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.41522
The price was cheap enough that if it didn't work out it wouldn't be a big deal.
Warning:
If you are going to do something like this you must have knowledge on how to solder stuff like small 20+ guage wire (learn how to solder from youtube.com) , have plenty of twist ties (go get 2983473 of them from harbor freight for $2), and a lot of free time on how you want to run wires and where the lights will go.

I've been thinking of a new pipe but the only problem is that more and more places are putting laws into effect that restrict decibles to 82-86. I think the micron might be above that :/
But if I do the Micron I'll have to make the switch to the JL Audio setup.

I like to see people dive in and make whatever they have their own, great job. I have an RT because it works best for me and my wife but if she did not want to ride with me I would have the RS. Nice bike!

I take that back, I can hear the music up to about 50mph.
Stripper:
We can make an exception and add you to Team RS

Getting better. I will probably stick with my headphones for a while though.

You just need to move more air^^
I can hear my set up going 70.
Wattage in car/motorcycle amp ia pointless ad they are not regulated. They can stamp on whatever they want to.
New spyder will have jl audio pods. They are a bargain at 750 compared to what car audio shop wanna charge you for custom pods. I am not sure why jl audio set the price do low with their 7.7" marine components in them???

$700 for the Jls? I thought the JLs were 1400 or maybe I'm thinking that is for the whole setup?

I agree...I think the average age of the spyder-rider is going up, not down!

A lot has to do with price. Next year you should start seeing a few more youngins with some. They should be 7-8g next year for used.
