I'd still go with an airbag jacket, like the HitAir....I really like mine and I feel safer than when I wore any jacket with any armor. It's nice to know that you'll have airbags deploying all around you if you come off your bike...for the price of a high quality armored jacket, you can get a HitAir, and be more protected when you ride...

I think the HitAir is amazing as is the Spidi jacket and vest. However, there is a reason that competitive riders protect their entire back with worn armor. For those who don't want to invest in a new jacket this is a great option at a great price.

I read the testimonials on the link you provided. I was thinking about the hitair jacket; but, may go with the armour instead.

The Hit Air provides neck protection which is a separate piece of gear for competitive riders. So it does something really special. I have thought about their vest or the Spidi one but they are worn over and I have enough stuff on. lol

Default I thought I was the only one with a "hit-air"

I own the hit-air vest and jacket. I got them when I was on two wheels, but feel it adds some possible protection if I was thrown. Everyone i know wants to tug on the cord to watch it inflate. Of course that is my one concern. If I need it will it actually inflate? I hope I never find out!

The neck protection is critical. I volunteer for an ambulance group and we see a lot of thrown riders with neck and back injuries.

Thought they were reusable. Just replace the cartridge. There are videos on YouTube of the Spidi inflating.

I think the poster was just saying he hopes it works when needed.
