    Default Clock doesn't keep time

The warranty on my wife's 2008 Spyder is nearly over, so I was trying to think of anything that should be taken care of. The clock has always been terrible at keeping time. It gets off by about 5-10 minutes each month. Is this a common problem to Spyders or should I try to get it fixed under warranty?

    Thanks,
    Bruce

Mine has never in its 1.5 years kept accurate time, and its not a low battery in my case.

They all seem to do it. Reset it once in a while, and all will be right. It is not a big deal.

It is clock drift and once in a while I reset mine also ( RS 2010 SM5 ), not a big deal and I suspect this type of clock drift is not specific to Can-Am BRP Spyders, but to many other powersports machines. No worries.

Mine does not drift that much.

Have not heard of any slow clock Spyders. All seem to be fast. I reset when it gets more than 10 minutes fast. Must be the US/CAN time exchange rate.

have never set mine since new so i don't know if it works or not. I would have to guess no because the time is not right.

Well you have to push the button so many times to get there it aint worth it anyway!! I just keep some kind of golf watch or something handy so I can check time quickly IF I need to, which when I'm on the bike riding is exactly... NEVER!!

I never have to worry about it as I always have to re-set it after it comes out of the shop for whatever the warranty issue of the month is.

Be careful Tom, you wouldn't want to jinx yourself now.

The clock also resets when you unplug the console.

    Believe me, I know!
Crossing my finger and toes, throwing salt over my shoulder,
that my behaves, and hopefully when I get to Tenn. there *might* be a competent tech to check out the "check transmission" issues I'm having (more often than not) with my paddle shifter.

    Sorry to hijack this thread..
...anyone know what time it is?

I reset mine twice a year (daylight savings time). Other than that, I don't look at it much.

That explains why mine is an hour off.

Somebody quick! Take his temperature! Something is bad wrong here.

Did somebody hijack his SpyderLover's login and is posting without his permission?

I also found that the digital speedometer is faster than the stick one...however, whenever the bike is serviced (and an update is done), they zero out for a while again...then, with time, they differ by a few mph.

The zumo also shows slower than the digital...
