Great news, no longer have to rush home before dark.

Here in va it is my understanding that you will not be able to pass the test if you do it on your spyder (so I have heard anyway). I elected to do the safe rider course which gives you your endorsement without taking the DMV written or road test. It also gives you a discount on your insurance. I really enjoyed it.

That's what I'm doing as well. With the rider safety course you get good classroom, time on 2-wheelers, and that exempts you from having to take the skills test at DMV. I think you learn more that way anyhow, so that's what I'm gonna do.
BTW, Big time congrats for passing dude. You Da Man!! Doin it in a Spyder!!

This was the same route I took. 27 miles driving around a parking lot, three days of training on a two wheeler which is given free in Illinois. Not having to complete the test on the Spyder driving on a postage stamp - Priceless!!

The variation on experiences is quite interesting. It blows my mind that some test administrators cant tell the difference between 2 and 3 wheels, and that they just might have different handling characteristics. Comments like don't fall over on that thing are hilarious to me. Sometimes, public employees just don't seem to be able to think out of the box. We were lucky to run into one that could see that the 2 wheeled test was not very compatible with the Spyder. Spouse had 6000 miles driving experience on the Spyder when she took and passed the test. It was pretty tight quarters going through the motions on the painted lines, and some of the stuff she did was not pretty--but she still passed with flying colors.
