im about to buy a new spyder and ,would like to get the auto trans.,but some one told me they are having trouble shifting,or slow shifting,has any one with the autos had any troubles with theres sifting? thanks for any help i dont want to make a big mistake,iv had 50 motorcycles and can shift gears but i think i could get my wife to ride an auto.
I have a 2009 SE5 with almost 14,000 miles and no shifting problems. There is a clutch recall notice. Check to make sure yours has had it done (if needed) prior to purchasing
It shifts down on it's own (or do it yourself) but if it fails to disengage, it stalls out..like a cars clutch & you fail to press it when stopping.once it does that it is imposs. to start again (because it is "still in gear")
If my 2009 SE5, for some reason, stalls (very very seldom...) in gear, I simply press on the brake pedal and restart it.
It is a safety feature that, I assume, is also common in 2010 models...
