Why not have the dealer do it for you so you don't have to buy the tool?...other than this one time you'll have to adjust it, will you have another need for this tool?

I am not sure that there will be such a tool in a Sweden dealer, especially taking in consideration the price of the tool and the quantity of Spyders in the country.
Bought my Krikit II for less than US$15 and taught my mechanic how to use it on my SE5, since he has the torque wrench and socket for the rear axle nut (and I don't).

Are you in Venezuela or Sweden? Either way, I guess if you don't have a dealer around, it doesn't make a difference...gotta do what ya have to! Perhaps you should open up a Spyder dealer? Now, that would be cool!!!!

I am in Venezuela, and there is only one BRP dealership about 500 miles from where I live, and they don't carry the Spyder line.
I bought mine in USA and had it imported into Venezuela, along with some filters and spark plugs; just basic maintenance items.
I have to assume that there are just a few Spyder dealers in Sweden, and not many would be willing to invest nearly US$1000 in a gadget that is going to be seldom used.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong... (like Dennis Miller used to say)
Let's hear what the nicko has to say about BRP (Spyder) dealers and service in Sweden...

The reduced belt tension spec has made it a bit easier to get the belt right. After dealer adjustment to the revised spec, I found the old standard of being able to give the belt 1/4 twist at the center between the sprockets, using just your thumb and forefinger, holds true now. before you could not come close to this. This is done with the Spyder on the ground...and should get you mighty close.

Es my interesante.

I was in Maracaibo a couple of years ago. I don't remember the exact price but I do remember it was very cheap. I remember passing through the security check points on the roads and seeing hundreds of confiscated containers (gas cans, plastic bottles, jugs, etc.) of gasoline that people were trying to smuggle out.

It is still happening in the border towns and nearby cities.
It gets smuggled into Colombia for a huge profit, and it is sold to riders and drivers at prices lower than those posted in Colombia.
The government is trying hard to control that sumuggling in the border areas, with limited success.

I just had my belt adjusted by the dealer (free) and it can be turned 1/4 by my thumb and forefinger as you stated.

Scotty, how easily should you be able to twist the belt? On my RT, I can twist it 90º, but it takes some effort.

That's right. It shouldn't be real easy.

Since my belt was lowered from 1150 Ketons to 600 ketons I can twist it 90 degrees with some effort. BUT , it makes MORE noise when I accelerate fast, almosts like a flapping sound. Is this OK?

+1 If it was easy, it could twist more than 90.

drive belt tension on 2014 spyder rt
I have a 2014 spyder rt. i been looking for help with the drive belt tension adjustment ideas. i decided to try some ideas from my harley-davidson days.
this is how i adjust my drive belt on this spyder. first i made sure that the belt tension was set with my kirkit gauge. then i loosen the axle bolt and nut, now i jack up the spyder and block the front wheels. then i started it up and put it in first gear and let it run. as i said i had set the belt tension already, my belt was running to the left outside of the rear wheel sprocket. i then started to adjust the right side to get the belt to rub the inside of the sprocket, very touchy. then with the spyder still jack up and running, i started to tighten the axle nut and bolt, as i'm doing this, the belt is moving out to the left side of the sprocket and not staying align where i wanted it. back to loosen it up again, and doing more adjustment to the right side only, then tighten the nut and bolt again. did this till i was happy with the belt position. then i lower it down and took it for a test ride, about ten miles, stopping during the test ride to check the belt alignment, stayed where it was suppose to be. hope this can be of help to other.

my dealer had no idea what a cricket was and didn't want to use it. when he put a new tire on the rear he set it to 700 on their sonic gauge was tight as a banjo string and now 3000 miles later when he replaced the front drive pulley I asked him to not set it so tight, so he set it at 400. when I checked it with the cricket it was 210 pounds. At 700 on the sonic gauge would have been over max on the kricket
