    Default CB Antenna Broke Off!

While ryding yesterday I heard something flopping around on the rear of the RTS so I pulled off the road and looked at the back of the bike. The CB antenna had broken off at the base and was only attached to the bike by the thin wire that raps around the antenna. The antenna core appears to be made of some sort of white material like fiberglass. I'm taking it to the dealer on Monday in hopes it will be replaced under warranty.

Anyone else have antenna problems? It looks like the antenna base has a small nut that attachs it to the base so hopefully it will be a simple fix of screwing on a new antenna.

Yep! the antenna on our RT just disappeared. Our dealer told us he'd just given his last antenna to the rep who stopped in after his antenna disappeared... Ours was replaced under warranty.

It's been over a week and my dealer and BRP rep still can not find the correct BRP part number for the CB antenna

Do you know what part number your dealer has ordered?

All parts for accessories are listed on the instructions. Did he look there?

Comm/CB was installed by the dealer and I never received the installation instructions. Also, doubt dealer kept a copy of instructions.

Does anyone on this forum have a copy of the instructions?

The dealer can access all the instructions via BossWeb on their computer.

Thanks for the P/N but BRP does not have that number in their system to even place an order. Hopefully the recent post on this forum about a BRP bulletin addressing antenna issues will resolve this.

This is a common situation for the BRP accessories. The parts are not available separate from the kits. My dealer and Carlo worked for over a year to get a single part for the foglight kit for our RS listed. When things like this are covered by warranty, as many are, parts should at least be available to dealers.

When the antenna on my RT broke off I went to Walmart and bought one of their generic flexible unit for $7.00. It works great and is flexible.
