Default Fatal Spyder Collision in Quebec yesterday

Below is a link to the French news clip that aired - the video clip shows the force of the impact (ignore the commercial at the beginning) . The passenger who died was a 50 year old woman - her husband who was driving is in serious but not life threatening condition.

A group of 3 Spyders was out for a ride on a secondary two lane highway in Stoneham, Qc. A vehicle coming in the opposite direction made an illegal passing maneuver, never saw the Spyders and struck the third Spyder in the group killing the passenger. Police are still investigating.

My condolences to the family / toutes mes sympathies

Be careful out there mes amis!

This kind of thing is never good, very sad. We are all so vulnerable on our machines, whether it be two wheels or three.

In No way do I say the riders are at fault here.

May GOD hold them and theirs right now
Agreed. My thoughts and prayers are with the families. This is a tragedy that just leaves you shaking your head. Sometimes things happen that are just out of our control. Praying also for a full and speedy recovery for the gentleman who survived.

Very sad indeed. Can happen anytime---- to anyone.

Looks like it was an RT--- and it really got torn up.

    Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
    Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
    Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
    Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Oh man that's horrible! My thoughts go out to those involved along with their families! Sucks that people who obey the law and having a good time have to be the ones who have to pay the price for someone else's stupidity! (illegal traffic maneuver!).

I ws not able to view the video for some reason, but my prayers also go out to both families. Things like this are a huge tragedy and have a very strong and lasting impact on everyone involved. I also wish a full recovery for the gentleman.

A very sad story indeed, yet another example of a vulnerable road user paying the price for the stupidity and inattention of someone else. Remember that as safe and stable as the Spyder is, all brothers and sisters who ride on two or three wheels are very vulnerable and lives can be changed or even ended in a split second. Let's all be extra careful out there.

Unfortunately, one never completely recovers from something like this, physical injuries heal, emotional scars last a lifetime. I lost my wife in an accident in 2008. My thougts and prayers go out to the survivor and those that witnessed the accident.

As OTR drivers wife and I see stupid moves all day, every day. Only takes a second or less to ruin lives... Prays and best wishes to the Families. Life will never be the same.
